I don’t do ovals, but finally NASCAR has a car that actually looks badass. The Ford looks even better!

In Nascar and on the road it will be called the “SS”. It is based on the Australian Holden(GM down under). Beautiful car.

Yeah, it looks like a touring car now.

I’m happy because it looks like it will automatically add the driver name over the windshield where the rules mandate. I’m hoping we get that for the other touring cars that get driver names on the car.

I hope it adds the name over the door. I freakin’ hate doing that on my paints, it never looks the way I really want it too. Then again, I’m way to particular about certain things when I paint. :/

Most of the cars I’m thinking of add the name to the windows themselves, which we can’t even paint yet.

yep like a proper stock car now just wished they would do more road tracks now.

why do they call Chevy holdem there? I think Chevy brand is far more strong and if I’m not wrong in the UK it got some other name as well.

As much as I wish they would get back to doing more road courses like the old days, I’m not too worried since there’s a plethora of other fantastic GT and touring car series in the states that already do. World Challenge, CTSCC, ALMS, Grand Am… even if NASCAR ran 10 road courses a year it still wouldn’t be as good as any of those series in anything but TV time.

Holden was an Australian name brand before GM entered the picture. It’s kind of the same reason we still have the Chrysler brand in the US instead of Fiat taking over the branding, far better recognition as Chrysler.

Yeah, like Bakkster said, Holden’s already established here and has been essentially General Motors’ Australian branch since the 40s. And Chevy might be a strong brand in other countries, but I’m not sure that’s the case here – Australian brand mentality is such that if GM were to discontinue the Holden badge and replace it with Chevrolet, it’d probably be commercial suicide…

I guess, NASCAR doesn´t want to become a traditional road track-endurance series, even when they add some road courses. I don´t like to see them on more road tracks since they are too bulky to be really convincing. Ovals seem much more appealing, so they should stay there.

By the way: the 2013 cars are the best looking since 20 years for me.

Yup you are 100% right, considering that one of the best races of the year is Watkins Glen and the Nationwide road races.

Shows how much you know considering most Nascar fans want more road courses for this reason.
