iRacing.com – ARX-01C In-Game Preview

iRacing has released a first in-game preview of the HPD ARX-01C Le Mans prototype that is due to join their simulation later this summer.

The LMP2 car will be part of iRacing’s 2.0 summer update along with Suzuka, Iowa and the Ford GT GT2 car and should be available in late August.

Powered by a V8 engine and designed by Wirth Research, the car started its racing life under Honda’s Acura brand. The ARX-01C has won numerous races, including the LMP2 class at last year’s Le Mans 24 Hours in the hands of Strakka Racing.

    iRacing is so patethic at times. They got so many updates read to go but they ALWAYS wait something else from other simulator to then release it. Such a shame because instead at looking into what they can do they insist in head hunting other sims well iRacing is just a business after all and consumers have to wait slow development.

    so your complain about the software is the development timeline?…

    been august for as long as we were all informed of 2.0 dude.

    haters gunna hate. And just a note to OP. they do not have it ready to go, they build it they fine tune it. They have a group of guys who beta run it until they all believe its good and proper then they release it.

    iRacing.com = hater

    Its just pathetic to read comments in here sometimes. This shot was released because people were nagging about previws over at the iracing forums, not because Targa is soon to be released.

  • Manibal

    Do you want to bet that on sunday they will be release another update?  What’s more, I will “predict the future”  (booooooooooooo)If rF2 isn’t release before august, not the whole package of “iRacing 2.0″ will be release, perhaps missing a car or track, o maybe the tire update for all cars…  If you read this blog every day (very good place), you notice the iRacing news always appear after the big news of other sims trying to troll the news.

    Sorry but the whole idea that iRacing does anything to “counter” rFactor is absurd. iRacing is a multi-million dollar operation that, for the most part, targets a completely different sim racer demographic than rFactor.

    If you´re into historic racing (like most people who want to drive the Targa will be) iRacing isn’t really the right place for you to be. And if you enjoy professional online racing competition like most iRacing subscribers, you don’t really care whether or not another rFactor track gets released…

    And since you´re emphasizing the order of stories around here, let me clarify that the order is solely determined by the time I find these stories and have time to post them. It’s nothing any of the developers can directly influence (like they would even care  ;) )

    Yes, I happen to visit virtualR now and then. Come on, take off your tin foil hat. Btw, iRacing 2.0 is only called that because of the new tire model, these updates to the iracing service come along every three months regardless of UFO landings or rFactor2. If somethign doesnt make it to the August update it will come later, nothing new about that.

    iRacing staff have said most cars will have the New Tyre Model on release of the new build (August 1st approximately), but some, most probably the new cars, are likely to be delayed a week or two.

    Either way, we’ll have everything by mid August the latest :)

  • Bakkster

    Yup, the build is the final week of July, but iRacing is giving themselves a few weeks of potential delay to work with.
