InsideSimRacing.tv have gotten their hands on Thrustmaster’s brand new TS-PC Racer FF Force Feedback wheel, putting it through a first test.

The TS-PC Racer FF is powered by a brushless 40-watt Force Feedback motor that is being kept cool by the company’s newly-developed “Motor Cooling Embedded” system, or MCE for short that ensures the motor maintains its performance level even in intense usage.

Also on board is the new F.O.C. algorithm (for Field Oriented Control) that boost the precision of Thrustmaster’s H.E.A.R.T (HallEffect AccuRate Technology) system providing 16-bit resolution (65,536 values). Like the T500 RS, the wheel comes with a maximum of 1080 degrees rotation, being fully compatible to all products in the Thrustmaster wheel ecosystem, including several pedal sets, shifter and wheel rims.

Speaking of rims, the TS-PC Racer FF ships with a open-wheel style cutout wheel rim that is becoming more and more popular in race cars around the globe, featuring six buttons, a rotary encoder, shifter pedals and suede handgrips.

The wheel is now available, selling for a suggested retail price of €549.99 / $499.99.

Challenge accepted. We will now develop a Bi-Turbo power supply!

    • vilivili

And Bi-Turbo wheelbase for it? :DD 😉

    • ImageArtSigns .

lol…I tip my hat to you sir…you do not often get the competitors of a similar product commenting on each others products, let alone looking at them…well, not that I would know of anyway.

    • Richard Hessels

Yes that Turbo shaped PSU is even uglier than the CSL Elite base front plate. 😉

      • Thomas Jackermeier

You mean our patented Mega Hyper Giga Frontplate (M.H.G.F) with integrated eyeforce and 128000 Bit paint resolution?

      • Richard Hessels

Yea that one, that more luxurious than carbon looking decal. It’s a real eye catcher. (on a great product b.t.w.)

    • brrupsz

You already have quad-turbo prices for regular unit so better not.

The Video starts with: “Thrustmaster has been producing wheels for about ten years.”

It´s funny because they should know better. The first production wheels for the pc came from thrustmaster back in the mid 90s. My first Wheel was the Thrustmaster T2. http://etc.pixesthesia.com/junksale-2009-07/formula%20t2%20wheel.jpg

But, was it a FFB wheel? I suspect that would disqualify it in this context.

I too, had one of the early non-FFB TM wheels; it was probably the best wheel available at the time (at least among commercial options).

Ah that photo brings back memories.

    • Ernie

Oh. My first steering wheel too. 🙂

(Reminds me, that we are old)

  • Joshu

I hope they work on some quality control, because I’ve had 2 T500s break this year.

This seems to be common for not just this company. Avoid the headaches and get a good Kollmorgen as the first piece of your OSW Direct Drive Kit and end the worries of your Wheel Input Device letting you down.
