The rF Open Wheel Racing Project has released the Indycar Series 2008 mod for rFactor, bringing the 2008 IRL season to the simulation. 2008 was a rather special year for the IRL as American open-wheel racing is finally unified again.
You can now relive this exciting season in fully glory as the mods include all cars and drivers the season had to offer, including race-specific liveries for all cars. Furthermore, the mod comes with majorly overhauled, fully RealFeel compatible physics, a brand new Honda Accord pace car and much more.
The mod includes AI calibration files and setups for all IRL tracks as well as AI files for all tracks from JNS, SCE & TPSCC. The mod is available in two different downloads, the high resolution version (2048x resolution textures) is suitable for fairly powerful computers only. Both versions will work online without mismatches.

Hi-Res links dont work, everyone is reporting errors with the low-res version (which for all we know happens in the hi-res too). Not a great start :(
I hope it gets sorted soon and that more mirrors or even a torrent to the hi-res version appears. This mod looks good from the screenshots so I’m eager to try it.

The high-res version download worked for me, I haven’t noticed any problems.

well maybe you got it before the server bombed out due to maximum capacity being reached.

The setup installer appears to by default install to
C:\Program Files\rFactor\rFactor
If you don’t change that to just your root rfactor directory, maybe that is were the problems are starting from?

Low res version didn’t work for either. It really hacks me off when mods aren’t tested properly before release.

DChaps my installer defaults to the correct location C:\Program Files\rFactor, so hopefully a fix will get released soon.

It does not matter which version I use (high res or low res), the install wants to put an extra rfactor subdirectory regardless of which folders I manually browse to and select. So in other words, it appears that no matter what I do, it installs to C:\Program Files\rFactor\rFactor
I doubt that this is correct, but maybe I am wrong. Can’t seem to find anyone else reporting this issue, so it could just be me.

button04,
you probably have a corrupted download.
It seems filefront is not handling our files correctly.
I am uploading all new links to a different provide for those having issue. Please try those before you judge. We tested our installers, its FileFront that seems to be giving you all corrupted downloads.

I dl’d that .rar from rFcentral, no probs with dl(hopefully it is HQ-version, at least it didn’t said “Low res” in its name).
All files were there, i moved them to my F1/open wheel-rF install. Haven’t tired yet but i don’t expect any problems.

You got the LoRes, correct?
The FileFront was corrupted. Another 1024 Lo Res Link is uploading. It WILL work. It has been tested several times. Its filefront corrupting the RAR’s

Wonderful, just had a great test session @ Indianapolis.
Just one question – a list with supported tracks (in ideal way with links) would be fantastic.
When installing doublecheck you instal it really into your rFactor folder, not rFactor/rFactor – even when selecting the correct location I had to delete from the path the second “/rFactor”
And HiRes version moving fast even on my pretty average machine.
Great job guys!

Which were the right tracks for this mod?
I think that i have many of those Nascar-trackpacks, ’cause i have most from available Nascar-mods.
