Hockenheim for rFactor 2 – Pit Previews

Tommy78 is working on bringing Hockenheim to rFactor 2, releasing new previews of the German venue.

The previews show the track’s pit complex that is part of the iconic Motodrom section.

Tommy’s version will come with three layouts, including the GP track as well as the shorter Short & National layouts.

Well, that is always nice. Will there be a drag strip? :p

    Looking forward to this.

Fantastic that we have another great track being worked on! Needs texture work desperately.

    This is good to see!

You need to lose the mountains in the background. The landscape around Hockenheim is pretty flat. Just a constructive criticism.

I hope not cause I don’t want to see anyone in drag strip LOL

    Oh dear!

I would have looked fwd to this track. But sadly I have just uninstalled rF2 after a bad update lead to the whole installation getting messed up.

  • Realkman666

    Can you tell me more?

  • http://racingrenders.com/ F1Racer

I could but what would be the point ? :) Summary though…. updating to build 228, update messed up during the process, messed up the rF2 install cos it wouldn’t let me try it again, tried to fix it myself, failed, uninstalled it all out of sheer annoyance.
Just one of those nights. I`ll reinstall when I feel up to it and when I can bring myself to put up with the physics again. But lets not get into that can of worms.

    The point is information!
I just bought it again today, so for me it’s a fresh install. I guess I won’t be forced to update every time? What don’t you like about the physics specifically?

You bought it again ? How come ?
The physics is another debate which I don’t wanna get into here because it always opens a can of worms with people who either think you’re just slagging the sim off or you’re dumb because its ok for them.

Even though my first impression was very poor, I did like the FFB and the cockpit feel, so I thought I could give it a another shot.
With more tweaking of the graphics settings and pedal sensitivity, the performance is acceptable and I can stay on the track even on a green track.
I don’t like the extreme pushing in the corners even at low speeds and I think the F1 feels horrible, but the C6 and GT-R feel right to me, according to races I’ve watched. It feels like they drive the way they’re supposed to.
Again, rF2 is offensively bad looking and inconsistent, but I’ve been enjoying it now at about 50 FPS.
