HistorX – A Different Preview Video

Even though the Historic GT & Touring Car mod for rFactor is expected to be released soon, the HistorX team-members can’t seem to stop making preview videos.

Here is the newest and it’s rather different and arty, courtesy of BradK.

    Well they say you’ll have to buy a GTL CD (off eBay I reckon) to be able to install the mod. That assumingly makes their conscience clean after making the conversion that is illegal by the law, not like it becomes legal with the CD-check though. :roll:

    modbaraban, I have all the racing sims released since GTR1, so thats not a problem. Oh, and the cd-check is a good thing if you ask me, the makers of these games are holy in my book.

    This is against the concept of sim modding, imo. I won’t get this mod since I never had a GTL CD and will not have one even if I would want buying it. It’s not in stores. Now I imagine some ppl charging some extra for the second hand game on eBay and such. No mod is worth that. That’s somewhat unfair if you ask me. And no it doesn’t bother me that much because I’d have some fun with such a mod, but wouldn’t spend that much time racing historic cars, as I spend with the actual ones. I just hope this doesn’t turn out to be a new trend for modders in case this one is successful.

    Well, as long as its not abondonware, converting a game is basically stealing.

    Considering that they did what the baseline was done for the P&G Mod for GTR2 in which Simbin gave permission on.. How is it stealing?

    Simbin gave the go ahead to P&G and I believe those who are working on Historix also went through the same channels.

    The way that this team is doing it allows it to be posted on all sites. It is not illegal as the original disc is needed and it falls into the use guidelines simbin stipulated for the P&G Release.

    modbara – To be blunt and direct. If your not willing to pay content for another game to have it in Rfactor why should you deserve to have it at all anyways?

    I’m sure one of us will end up repackaging it without an installer anyways :evil:

    You didnt read my earlier post, I am all for the dvd-check. Without it, it is stealing.
