Historical Formula Cars for rFactor 2 – New Previews

Mexes continues his impressive modeling efforts on several historical Formula cars for rFactor 2.

Following his past work, new previews now show off the Lotus 16 and the BRM P25. Once these are done, mexes will be moving on to the Cooper & the Vanwall.

    Nice Work! Keep It Up!

Really nice.  These should be a handful :)

Awesome! Can’t wait to see them released. One small thing: I would kill to have a full grid for any given year in that era, even if all the different models have to share the same physics. Actually, that will make it even better for league racing.

Hope these will be released some day. Nice modeling! :)

    Really impressive! 10+!!!

    Polycount?.

     Indeed looks impressive. :)

I’m not convinced these cars that Mexes has done will actually be coming to rF2. We’ve now seen renders of six cars over the past 14 months but not a single piece of evidence that they’re actually being integrated into a racing sim. Color me skeptical. :

hi there sorry if i never wrote a bit more information about the models.
my models are modeled in parametric  technique, of course output is poly triangles.
polycount cant be precise now because i can delivery it  with  1 million triangles or 1001.as a example the ferrari 256  in
post   http://www.virtualr.net/ferrari-256-dino-by-mexes-preview   have a images with my test in LODS the lowest have 7k triangles next +7 next +7 so i choose the high final model to have around 55k polys (withou mechanical stuff) thats another story  but im working on it.(can go to recycle bin if the person who will put the car in game decide it and chose a 35k.
so let me clarify the situation , i dont know anything about the tools to put the cars ingame, nothing about sound or physics.
im a solo person i dont have right now a team to put the cars in game, until i finish the vanwall and the cooper, finish modeling all cockpits , lods and texturing, and my only guide how to deliver the models to ingame is the subaru that was already released at nogrip for gtr2(thxs to izukon and she still working in 2009 and 2010 model),for rfactor someone ask me permission about the models and i give them of course, cant make more.
to Luke Longnecker i undestand and respect if you septikal, and you will be more if you know that im not in the beta or rfactor 2 and im not a member of project cars, dont play rfactor neither gtr2 or gtlegends that i love and there some people delivering amazing mods to it. short awnser i only have a old nvidia quadro card, cant play a game, just modeling and texturing.
so my only goal is to finish those models, get them ready to someone put them in game.if in the end i dont deliver them they wont be missed by you, but unfortunately by me.
ps:rendering a image is the only way i can show what im working(modeling and texturing), and i dont know much about it, they for testing only.
another ps: thxs to my girl that help me a lot undestanding the “asss” of those cars they not that easy to made;)
many thxs for the feedback and sorry my long post  and not so good english.

What do you think they’re going to do with these models then? Not sayin its impossible, some people do like simply doing ultra high polygon models for the sake of it but I’d say this is not the case

Just read your post, thx for info, I’m sure if you will be looking for somebody to give life to your models theres plenty of modders who’d love to, professional 3d models is always welcome for a mod.
