The HistorX Historic GT & Touring Car Mod for rFactor has been released. Weighing almost 1100mb, the mod has been split up into five parts – And all of them are available now!
Even though it’s based on GT Legends, this mod is much more than a simple conversion. The HistorX team has given all these cars an extensive overhaul, equipping them with new sounds, physics and lots of liveries. The mod offers three seasons of FIA Historic Racing, a Le Mans 1972 carset and several fictional cups. To top it all off, you`ll be getting a whole new GUI to get you in proper historic mood.
Please remember to dust off that GT Legends DVD of yours. You don’t have one? Well, I´m afraid you will miss out on this mod then as the creators have included the check to pay their respect to Simbin as the original authors of most of the models.

In my opinion it’s a great mistake to include this “control instance checking for the original DVD” because of simbin doesn’t seam to be interessted in conversions and talk to converters about this…even no one ever heared something about any lawyers writing letters to these persons…
but…ok…perhaps this instance prevents them of further consequences :D
and…for those of you living in germany I only can say: GTL is buyable for about 10€ here in the AK-tronic pyramide and via amazon.de…so the MOD for rF will cost you about 10€ at least…

And please stop whining about the dvd-check, its the only way they can distribute the mod on rfactorcentral, rsc, etc.

man, just bought GTL for 9.99€ and tried out this fantastic mod. Once you are riding with the E-Type through Eau Rouge, you are out of this world and back in the wild 70`s.
Thx to the Mod Team for this longterm entertaining beauty.

Man… This is the Power and Glory of rFactor, and not just in the obvious way. The physics are fantastic, and they’ve managed to make RealFeel REALLY work, for once–I just did 10 laps around Kylami in a 427 Cobra, completely arse-sideways, with half a wheel of opposite lock, with a huge shit-eating grin on my face. The sounds are amazing, the tire smoke and tracks are just right, the tire sounds are just right, even the wind noise is just right. I’m still a die-hard Power and Glory fan, and I prefer GTR2’s feedback……… but this mod is quite possibly on par with it.

is there any way around the dvd check?
i bought a copy of the game and the dvd will not work on any laptop so far, it’s really annoying. tried to get something out of atari but never a response. tried all the starforce update and never had anyluck.
sucks cause i would really love to get out in some of the classics

edwin, have you tried to run the installer with the disc in the tray? you dont actually have to install GTL for the check to work, is your drive picking up the disc at all? if it is, but the installer for GTL is just not working, i would try running the mods installer and see what happens, just in case it does work

If all else fails, goto a friends PC, put your official (purchased) GTL disc in and create an .ISO/image using your favorite disk imaging/ISO software. Copy the new .ISO you’ve created and bring it home to the PC you’re having trouble with. Use Daemon Tools to mount the .ISO, while mounted try again to install the mod. If the mods installer prompts you for the GTL disc, point it to your mounted .ISO (D:, or E:, or F:, etc.)
Works for me, hope this helps all that are having issues.

No, as a matter of fact he has a great brain, great brains think alike. That’s why I’m downloading ISI’s image.
I don’t have the money, even 10 bucks to pay for anything else. iRacing for one has broke me for the most part. I’m not going to pay for a mod in any way shape or form.
Their not making one dime off of me to play a mod on the same physics engine, an older physics engine.
If their trying and you g00fballs actually respect that your the one with no brains.
If you honestly believe these modders care about ISI as a company your full of it. ISI does nothing for them, or us.
They, like everyone else is out to make money. They made rFactor so it could be fully mod able. That means ANYthing you can mod should be free once you pay for it.
So no, I will not be paying for ANY mod or lining ANYones pocket to play something I already paid for with the promise I could mod it how I wish.
Now, if they release Rfactor 2, I will pay. No sweat. But, pay to use something I own in the way it was supposed to be used. Your on crack.
