Historic GT & Touring Car 2.0 – Renault Alpine A310 Video

rFactor video maker stabiz has released a new preview video of HistorX upcoming new rFactor mod, showing us first footage of the scratch-made Renault Alpine A310.

Powered by a rear-mounted V6 engine, the A310 was built between 1971 and 1984 and enjoyed success both as a popular road-going sports car and in rally and road racing competition.

Using GT Legends as a base, the Historic GT & Touring Car mod for rFactor proved to be one of the most popular releases for the simulation. The second version of the mod will be bringing many popular racing cars from the past to rFactor, including the Ferrari 330, the Porsche 904, the Aston Martin DB4 and many others.

    Sublime ..

Steady on, it’s all very nice looking at a very well modelled car but I wanted some engine noise too.

Sound is like the other half of the HistoricGT mod. If they weren’t done then I think stabiz should have waited at least before making a video preview.

Thanks for the comments, guys! I am sure Juju is proud of his car when he reads here.

As for the many previews … I was initially asked to do previews of the new cars in the mod, but a fact I think some do not know (I didnt) is that every – yes every – car in HistorX has new sounds from Wolferl and physics by Niels & Gang for the new version, and I couldnt help myself, I think some would like to see (and hear) the “old” cars, although not every single one. :)

Carbonfibre, true the car has no sounds yet, but it as after all a preview. :) The cockpit work by JuJu and gonzas is not in it either, that will come at a later stage with the sounds.

Well, all Stabiz wrote is right (ALL the cars have got new sounds and physics, and much other improvements). About the A310 cockpit, the modeling is 100% finished and in game. It only needs the final version of the textures. That’s why Stabiz didn’t show it in the video yet.

Expect to see some WIP screenies of it very soon though :)

Apart of that, thanks indeed for the support. No need to say we really appreciate it, specially when it comes from other great modders ;)

All the cars having new sounds and physics is phenomenal. I imagine you’ll have to convert it for rF2 at some point too because it’s obvious this mod is going to be the definitive classic car driving sim experience for many years to come.

Stabiz, the HistoriX team doesn’t need to prove itself anymore. What a badass video! It’s nice, actually inspiring, to see some amazing creativity in videos from time to time. Thank you and Godspeed.

I’m quite new to this mod so you’ll have to excuse my relative inexperience but IMO this is quite frankly the best mod out there for Rfactor. Version 1 is still blowing me away even now – the cars feels great and playing on the older varients of racetracks with their bumps and slimmer road deisgn just adds to the white knuckle ride.
Running with a grid of 30 odd cars all bouncing over rough tracks at high speed along with the inertia of your own car – well theres nothing better IMO.
You really get that sense of how dangerous it was to drive heavy cars at high speeds with all the risks the older school racers used to face, even on the more basic tracks.
You really have brought home the feelings of driving in that era.
Stirling work – it honestly is.
