rFactor video maker stabiz has made a first preview video of Team HistorX’s Historic GT & Touring Car mod project for rFactor, showing two brand new cars in action.
The video shows the Porsche 904 and the Ferrari 250 GTO, two cars that will be included in the completely scratch-made 2.0 version of the mod.
Using GT Legends as a base, the Historic GT & Touring Car mod for rFactor proved to be one of the most popular releases for the simulation. The second version of the mod will be made up completely of scratch-made material, bringing several famous historic racing cars to rFactor.

Nice vid Stabiz :)
“The second version of the mod will be made up completely of scratch-made material, bringing several famous historic racing cars to rFactor.”
Does this mean all of the cars in this mod have been made from scratch by the HistorX team? And nothing is from GT Legends?

I bloody well hope it’s from scratch too, not requiring any DVD-checks from other games.

I don’t think so: it says that the second part will consist of scratch built cars, but the first one will stay as it is, I think.

Yeah thats what I was thinking, it seems like an awful waste of time to scratch make all those models (and the GTL models are stunning btw) when they’ve already released such a highly polished mod. And with the whole CD check thing it would appear simbin havent complained too much about it….

Please note that it’s not decided yet how the next update of HGT&TC mod is going to be released. Despite after releasing 1.0 we’ve been focused on creating 100% scratch made cars we have also a lot of updates for the cars already included in v1.0, being most of them part of GTL. Releasing all that together would mean that the second update would have a GTL DVD check also, that’s for sure.
Anyway, and I’m repeating myself, nothing is decided yet about in which form the next update it will be released.

ps. No, we’re not redoing the GTL cars. Simbin’s cars are superb and i guess we all prefer to have new cars.

Best Mod in rFactor, IMO. I’d like to race it on line, if only. Hope the brakes on the Ford Daytona are fixed. Glad people are “staybusy” working on this mod. Keeps them out of trouble.

I don’t think Stabiz is actually part of the modding team. Furthermore there is probably a large circle of trusted people in the rFactor community already sharing private resources and outsourcing for high quality promotional material such as screenshots and videos is very effective way of utilizing a broader skill set.

Glad you guys liked the video! carbonfibre is right, I have no modding skills what so ever, I was asked to join the team for promo stuff like this.

Yep, Stabiz is one of our latest members. And we’re very happy and proud as he kindly agreed to be part of this gang of historic cars fans. Keep your eyes open, as more stuff will come from him soon :)
