Following his first ever prewiew video of HistorX’s Historic GT & Touring Car 2.0 mod for rFactor, stabiz has released a new video, showing us some very impressive on-board footage of the Ferrari 250 GTO at Monza.
The 250 GTO was build by Ferrari from 1962 to 1964, only 36 examples were built, being powered by a three-liter V12 engine, putting out 300hp. The car enjoyed tremendous success in racing, winning the 1962, 1963 and 1964 World Manufacturers Championship.
Using GT Legends as a base, the Historic GT & Touring Car mod for rFactor proved to be one of the most popular releases for the simulation. The second version of the mod will be made up completely of scratch-made material, bringing several famous historic racing cars to rFactor.

Aww, reminds me of my trips to Italy, really nice preview that.
I have just a few tips for improvement; Disable the cockpit shake in rFactor, you can doctor the shake back in Vegas if your talented or just use AE for much better look. Narrow the FOV on the cockpit shot and turn off the colour filter. You can keep the colour filter on the intro piece, it makes sense there and at the end.
Keep up with the new release material!

This might be the mod to force my return to rFactor. The first version was the best mod in rFactor, hands down. Nothing else was close.

Niels did that one, right? I should rephrase: Anything that has Niels’ touch in rFactor is gold. Corvette and Historic GT, and I imagine the Supra — which I didn’t try before ditching rFactor — also is excellent.
The Caterham by RealFeel creators TechAde and Kangaloosh also is very, very good. Just about everything else pales compared to those, though.
This Historic 2.0 should be fantastic!

Do you plan a Race 07 / GTR Evo / Race On version? Because that has better tyre physic and much better Force Feedback without any plugin. Sounds and graphics (cockpit too) are incredible in the old (1.1) version too, but some (a lot of) car is undriveable – for example TC-65 Lotus Cortina or Mercedes 300SL spin out when I try to brake, or I’m in a slow corner. I don’t understand why. I think, I can drive. :)

Better tyre model and better FF with the same engine? hahahaha
DrumStick

Did you try both of them? Yes, same engine, but SimBin works on it a lot. Every SimBin’s game (from GTR2) have much better FF (you can feel all the breathings of the car) than rFactor. Tyre physic is different too. That’s why I want to try this great mod in SimBin’s title.

I think its fair to advise you or any other to try Power&Glory for GTR2, since its SimBin’s title and thats what is on your wish list
I promise, you’d be most delighted,

Copy and paste the values of FF from the plr and voila…
And:
Realfeel >>>>>>>>> crappy default FF of the gMotor 2 ;)

Sorry to hear that DrumStick, your missing more than you can imagine. PnG isn’t a simple conversion

GTR2 has terrible FFB ( if you ever drove a real car to compare it to) and it’s graphics are slow compared to rFactor.
My system, which runs rFactor at over 80fps with everything maxed out, is like a slideshow with Race07. I get about one frame every hour
Bottom line is that I have owned some of the cars in the HistorX mod ( but only the crap ones, like the Cortina, Mini, Mustang and Capri ). They behave pretty much like the real thing.

I tried, impressive work and a hardcore sim, not is for weekend drivers* like me. *Weekend driver not equal arcade driver. So I still prefer GTL mod for Race 07, but hope P&G will be released ever for Race series. In that I have all Simbin’s great track.
GeraArg: GTR2 and Race series has a same engine, but force feedback is very different.

You don’t have 24h lighting, which I think makes injustice to those GT40’s:wink:
Night racing is a must for me
