HE Sim Pedals – Testing Video

Back in November, Niels Heusinkveld unveiled his HE Sim Pedals, a stainless steel pedal set aimed at sim racing professionals.

Now, Niels has released a video, showing him testing one of the pedal units before shipping.

Features

  • CNC laser cut stainless steel ultra-strong, stiff and durable construction
  • No wearing potentiometers or sensitive hall sensors
  • Load cells on all 3 pedals for excellent durability and linearity with no moving parts
  • 12 bit (4096 step) electronics (actual range depends on pedal travel and desired brake force)
  • Adjustable travel by independently adjustable ‘up’ and ‘down’ stops
  • Adjustable damping on all pedals
  • Greatly adjustable pedal feel and required effort
  • Adjustable pedal face ‘upright’ angle -3, 0 and 3 degrees
  • Adjustable pedal height in 5 steps for foot size 5 to 13
  • Solid individual cables from pedal to electronics box

Niels had only six sets to sell, the pedals were available for  799€ (throttle and break pedals) and 1149€ (throttle, break + clutch) respectively.

    Nice!
    Might be too realistic!

…….At end of the day all simracers want to go faster so wonder if this will improve lap times or is this more oriented for as close to realism simracer?
I know adding load cell to my g27 didn’t shave off lap time added just bit of consistency.

Those look fantastic! However, with the cables coming out of the sides, I don’t think I would be able to get the brake and the throttle as close to one another as I would like. Not that it matters, I couldn’t afford them anyhow. Nice work though, I’m buying a lottery ticket tonight with those in mind.

Why are you using 3 independent USB controllers for each pedal? Seems like an inefficient in the electrical design perspective

  • Niels Heusinkveld

They can go pretty close, but you can also get 90 degree angled cables.

  • Niels Heusinkveld

Gamers want to go faster, Simmers want to go more realistic! :-) At least that is how I see it. But there is almost no relation between laptimes and controllers used, give an alien a rusty old knackered wheel and he will learn to be fast with that. These pedals only goal is to give more realistic operating forces, if you choose to calibrate them (the brake) this way. I won’t promise they’ll make anyone faster in the sim.

If you use these realistically and you are ever in a real formula 3 car for example, then I’m convinced it would help being used somewhat to the braking, but only if you used a sim / mod that made sense!

There is only one, but there are 3 loadcell amplifiers connected to the ‘main’ board.
