HD Steering Wheels for GTR2 – Released

Following his popular Alpinestars driver suits and the reworked M3 cockpit, BariCZ has released another stunning texture update for GTR2, equipping the Ferrari 360 and the BMW E90 320si by Thome with high-resolution steering wheels.

The new steering wheels come with 2048×2048 pixel high resolution textures made from photos and new specular maps, creating the impressive result you can check out below.

    2048*2048 texture just for steering wheel?? That’s what I call wasting :eek:
    You know this is the difference between professional artist and modder. Pro must always fulfil some requirements. I bet that nobody will notice ANY difference if it’ll be at least 1024*1024. And even this res will be wasting.

    Well, then you probably never tried to texture something :wink: Nowadays, in age of even 30″ monitors with huge resolutions, I cant agree with you. Furthermore, GTR2 engine is many years old, designed for totally different hardware, than is available now. Increasing texture size twice almost doesnt affect final performance or FPS. And I bet that Iam not only one who recognize difference between 1024×1024 and 2048×2048 texture ;) I have even 4096×4096 steering wheel for Audi R8 and it looks way better. But maybe that I and hundreds of people who downloads it are wrong ;) But there is solution, you dont have to download it ;)

    P.S. thats not difference between PRO and modder as you said ;) Try to look on my BMW M3 steering wheel and compare it with original. Its same resolution ;) Do you think that Simbin did 100% of what they CAN do? But maybe Iam wrong, Iam only modder ;)
