Looks like a good fun event to take part in , its fantastic that they have got together and organized this.

I think its good to copy the spirit and aspects of the real racing but at the same time I think they should in some ways dislocate themselves from the real thing.
(its a hard balance to get right)

In the end Simracing will never be real racing but it can be its own thing that’s equally as enjoyable ( but in a different way ) with the advantage of also being far more accessible and far less about who has the most money than real Motorsport.

Non the less Its nice to see sim racing in such an open and community spirited way.

This sounds like a great event. Maybe the organizers could be convinced to tour with their event and bring it to other countries.
Or they could simply send a core team and leverage local talent. In the US we could have a East and West event and I know a lot of people would participate.

I wonder if there is a racetrack someplace with a space large enough to host something like this. Doing it at a real racetrack would add even more realism to the whole thing.

It’s a single main annual event. I know it may sound overly expensive to travel half the world. But in contrast it is really cheap compared to taking part in the real Le Mans.
We know that good promotion and coverage is important to teams, because they look to get their costs covered by sponsors. And with no exposure, there is no interest from sponsors.
In my opinion we can not get this kind of coverage and exposure without the support from the entire sim racing community. I think at the moment a single top tier event has better chances of getting to this , sort of break through level. ?
I’d very much like to hear other opinions on this :)

It would be cool to have something like this backed by one of the racing organizations like the Blancpain Endurance Series. Participation in the event would get you 50% off the ticket price or something similar to get the fans more involved in the race, since they would have virtually raced it themselves the day before. I know I’d be down to go to an event like that.

GTR2 is still alive! Surely one of the most comprehensive sim racing platforms ever. I’ve recently installed it again and I was shocked how much this game still can offer with all the tweaks and mods. Awesome stock FFB, N.A.P. mod, Power and Glory, BPR mod etc etc… Simbin at its best, no doubt.

Such an awesome concept, hope it goes well. If I was in the position to, I’d be on the first plane over to join in… maybe next year :)

It’s been going well for 6 years and getting better every time. This year looks like an epic LMP clash between Team DGTL and Grenaa Bilhus Racing. The GT Class had 4 cars inside 1 minute for almost 23 hours last year and it looks to be a repeat of that race :)
