The default GTRE colors are to warm. I just change the colors on my monitor using Magic Tune Premium to cool color and the efect is better than the track pack IMO. The effect is similar but the green is better.

Great!

Much better and closer to reality for me. In real life there is a lot more white light on everything, the original simbin is too yellow and dark, in summer you have a bit of both and I must say SL did an awesome job!

Thanks for the comparison, 6e660. It appears that the SL version is somewhat bluer and paler than RL, where (as we already have seen) the Simbin version has a smoggy yellow cast to it.

Also, we've got to take into consideration the actual lighting - those RL shots appear to have been made with a fairly heavy overcast present, while the Simbin coloration looks a lot more like heavy smog and the SL is just plain too washed out to be real (at least on my calibrated monitor).

Thanks kkv. I don't really like how cold these shots look but properly calibrated colours can't be anything other than a good thing :)

The colour calibrator is actually very helpful and simple to use device. It takes only few minutes to get a result you never reach with tweaking your monitor by hand even if you do it forever. And after all you will find magicaly that colours of your games are just fine, your camera is not that crap you thought about and a printer prints almost the same you see on your screen. All that "unrealistic" and "cartoonish" thing is just an effect of a nuke brighted colour representation the display companies tend to set by default to impress unsophidticated customer.

Reminds me of the revised coloration of the GTR2 Birmingham Motorplex, with a bluish tinge and no greens. It just is not realistic (unless viewed by aliens with a blue-white sun, I suppose)

Nice to see this as an option... I agree with kkv though. The grass is just plain "winter" time. I'll stick with the stock colors anyhow as I like the rich color look.
