Posted on October 21st, 2008 in

Simbin has released the second patch for GTR Evolution, bringing the simulation to version 1.1.1.20. The patch includes a heap of fixes and some important changes such as a 140kg weight reduction for the WTCC Extreme class and weight penalty functionality for dedicated servers.

Changelog:

  • New dedicated server weight penalty functionality
  • New message board in main menu
  • Updated pit menu functionality
  • Updated tire wear display in pit menu
  • Fixed Super pole settings on LAN host
  • Various localisation issues fixed
  • Fixed missing loading animation
  • Fixed flag info in hud rendered wrongly
  • Fixed rendering issues when ghost car(s) on track
  • Fixed engine not repaired message in result screen between race 1 and 2
  • Updated track length display in track browser, it now reflects metric / imperial system
  • Touring car performance tweaks, slightly stronger FWD cars overall and all touring cars are close to each other performance wise
  • Engine fire locations fixes in Extreme cars and various GT cars

Steam will automaticly update your version the next time you start it, an offline version of the patch is in progress with no release date announced yet.

Can anyone who updated his server say anything about added options for restarting weekend, restarting race. Is this now possible? I know it’s not mentioned in the feature list, but maybe the author just left it out. ;)

Sounds good…but they did not fix the pit entry for the VLN :-(

Had a quick test last night with the DBR9 only, results as follows….. The feeling that the car was bouncing on a radically soft suspension has gone, handling is now more in line with what you’d expect from a GTR2 GT1 car. The back of the car is dramatically more solid in the grip it delivers, subjectively in replays it looks more like a GT1 car running around Zandvoort than the previous version. Seems much more of a race car than a modified road car in feel.
In terms of time (I’m not quick) 1:39’s rather than the 1:43 I managed for the C6R 24 hours earlier.

Seems like a major rework of the handling package for GT1/GT Pro

@scorpie: no changes to the dedicated server other than the weight penalty options!

Do the Extreme cars really need to be made lighter? i thought they were fast enough as it was.
