GTR Evolution – Nordschleife Video

German PC Games Hardware magazine was visited by Atari and they brought something very interesting with them, a beta version of Simbin’s GTR Evolution.

Also on site was female race driver Christina Surer who tried out the game and specifically the Nordschleife. Miss Surer is best known for being the ex-wife of Swiss F1 driver Marc Surer and the video somewhat shows that marriage won’t transfer driving skills. The “race driver & model” has some problems keeping the car on track, despite using all kinds of aids including automatic gearbox.

The late stages of the video are very interesting as we get to ride all the way from Tiergarten to Hatzenbach…. and Simbin’s Nordschleife looks very lovely in motion!

    Oh my god .what bullshit I saw at that Video.Its a shame for a pc magazin like Pcgameshardware to show GTE Evo as an appetitzer with noobs like Surer . They should use Smodo from Fanta4 to explain one of the best Racing Sim now

    OT: she doesn’t get a turn, but I know what’d give her straight, ehy what u think? I mean some sim-driving lessons ;)

    this video kinda putt me off . this is what i see daily when my daughter is playing the PS3.
    This video would put the term Sim to shame. it comes across like an arcade game. i was waiting for the machinegunn to pop out of the trunk.
    I hope we can see a ” physics video ” soon. coz this kinda video puts our hobby down. its almost a joke. ( talking about the video here, not EVO itselves.

    Funny thing is she is a race car driver herself but you could not tell from this video. She also does car tests, search youtube.

    Agreed, this video is lame.. yes, she is very likeable and charming – but thats not really the point, we wanted some serious testdrive and feedback from someone who have the insights. Driving in arcade-mode on a 17″ TFT in a kindergarten chair, OMFG!

    However, maybe she did’nt even know about the options of assists – and this was just what she was presented ? Personally I would drive just as pourly with all those assist who totally mess up your sence of whatever.
