6e66o has released new, high resolution, horizon textures for Simbin’s Nürburgring Nordschleife in GTR Evolution. No more pixelated hills but high resolution Eifel mountain glory.
To install the horizon, extract the Gamedata folder into your GTR Evolution directory. If you´re using the Steam version, you might have to create the folders yourself.

Finally this track starts to become more alive: I don’t like so much defaul textures…

Most of the textures look fine to me. But the almost total absence of shadows gives this track a dull look.

I stiil hav’nt got my gtr evo yet(got a txt yesterday to say it’s dispatched though),should be there when I get home, does this(original GTR evo version) have all the crowd and campers ect by the trackside ?
I got one on GTR dont know who’s it is,but I thought it was fantastic when playing a endurance type race, and as it gets dark you see all the camp fires ect as you go round, probably the best track I have used except Virtua_LM’s lemans 1977 and 79,would be great if all tracks gave these sort of atmospheric feel

Great! I love those skies!
I still have to make them work, anyway: if someone has GTR Evo online installation and had these update working, let us know!

Ok: dropping the GameData folder directly in race 07 folder seems to do the trick. No need to create other folders!

Thanx.

they wont go up for sure
i didnt experience a significant fps drop,
depends on the system i´d say.

Thanks, I’ll give it a go.
Hope it’s not more than a 10% drop (now I have just 35-45 FPS, which isn’t alot as we all know…).
