It seems that Simbin’s statement of endorsing modding of their recently released GTR Evolution title has fired up the community as several GTR Evolution modding projects are coming to life now.
While the first addon tracks and texture updates have already been released, several bigger projects are starting to shape up. Over at Racesimcentral, MMG’s Yanden has announced that the team will be expanding their modding activities to GTR Evolution. MMG is one of rFactor’s well known modding groups, having released their F1 2007 mod with several other projects in the works.
Team GSMF could end GTR Evolution’s Porsche drought, the team has stated interest in seeing their Porsche 997 GT3-RSR in Simbin’s newest simulation. They`re looking for an experienced third-party converter to do the job, if you´re interested in converting the work-in-progress car you can contact the team via their website.
Hopefully, these are only the starting points of what will be a lively modding community for GTR Evolution. Simbin will be releasing the missing car templates within the next two weeks, hopefully plenty of addon skins will follow.

mmm … i think most people missread the statement. as i read between the lines it said ” we do not endorse, nor attack modding, we just want no ports of Evo on other platforms. if they wanted evolution to be moddable , they would not have encrypted it i would think.

Don’t see the point of the encryption, all they did was change the key for this game. Anyway, this is about modding. I’d love to see the GSMF 997 in the game.

The 997 RSR wiil be great to have in Evo, but I wish that GSMF will allow the convertion of their PCC2007 mod also.
If you add the skins of Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia you have a perfect addon to STCC,

There is no MMG game, they are a modding group for rFactor and soon GTR Evolution.
Their Formula One 2007 mod for rFactor can be downloaded here:

SimBin needs to release a tool/SDK kit for Evo, it is not fun having to hex edit everything to work.
If they wanted modding to be successfull why change nearly everything that is most important when building mods… drivers, dials, motec, mirrors.
SimBin please release a modding kit/SDK

“haha gtrevo a simulation, what a joke”
I love how people think just because a game is harder than another game to play that it automatically makes it more of a simulation. Let me guess, the original GTR or some rFactor mods are more of a simulation than this?
Drive a GT car and then tell me, the majority of the new Simbin team have competition racing experience behind them.
