oh yes!  it looks like we get more accurate nords than we got atm! it could get some improvements of nords flair but think that’ll do the comunity fast!

Videos for comparison:

To me it looks like Simbin have nailed the textures.
Unfortunately I think that the elevation drops aren’t sharp enough.

the track from rfactor looks better!

@ dagobert
Graphics are not everything.
I think this will be a much better version. Seems like the track side textures, signs, and guard rails seem to be much more accurate.

I take that back, watched both videos again and the elevation changes are excellent.

To add to Eddie’s point: Aestetically the rFactor track might look better, but in the same respect it’s not accurate. What can you do if the real life Nordschleife isn’t as interesting as we’d like it to be?

I think this looks better then any Nord availeble ATM, and seeing the EuroSport logo in the top-right corner I think (almost know for sure) that this is a replay of his lap.
That means that it looks better when playing, and I have no idea how good Takfarinas pc is. So the graphics are ok (I think)
But the driving, well, it looks a bit eeeuh floaty, like a hovercraft, not as bad as in GRID, but well I don’t know it looks a little bit weird, especcially in the begging. So can you please comment on that…
And also Takfarinas, on what level of realism are you driving (TC? ABS? even more help?, are you using a steering wheel or something else? that sort of thing)?

Yeah, track look just fine. Mostly i expect that this have higher “general” quality than any of those community-created Nords.
All of them have their own problems with flashing textures/trees at least in some point of a track and also most of those versions has problems with car’s headlights.

graphics could improved more easyly as the track geometry i think… so the “better looking” will soon in this version of nords too! i think this one is the base for a more realistic nords well get soon with community improvements!

Just looking at the car, the steering wheel movement seems very shallow and limited. Looks like the entire Nord. was done with grahically no more than 10-15 degrees steering wheel rotation

@ gtrNl :
Yes, video capture was made with my replay… More easy :)
Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 / Asus 8800GT / 4 Go Memory / 1680 * 1050 Antiliasing x 8. All details in game are full.
I driving in “no help” with a Logitech G25 steering wheel.

@ F1Racer:
I don’t think your actual steering wheel rotation is synchronized with the wheel you see in the cockpit. I believe some .plr file editing is required for this to work. Also, this varies with driving style. Check out the C6 ZR1 video I linked to earlier, he’s not exactly going lock to lock.

You dont see full car dynamics in replay mode,
that also effects on the steering wheel in cockpit.
Next time try to capture it live Takfarinas ;)

276° for my G25, and 16° on my “basic setup”.

Thx Grégory for the Vid,
track looks nice, shame games and FOV’s stil kill so much of the elevations/drops compared to real.
Just one question, similar to what 6e660 said, can you use the “full settings” on replay quality or record live with fraps. Always looks & sounds much better in ISI replays ;)

@Takfarinas: Thank you very much for the first live action of Simbin´s Nordschleife! Could you make a downloadable version (HD wmv) like you did for the other track? I think everybody here would appreciate that. Thanks in advance.
P.S.: I can’t wait to drive it by myself. You´re a lucky bastard;-)

Replay quality is “Full Settings” and captured with Fraps.
I’ve contacted 6e66o for some optimizations … :???:

I read the FAQ on the EVO website and missed the tire sounds in the replay, so assumed you did not use that setting.
So live Fraps is needed than

One of our providers, Amazon S3, is having an outage right now which is affecting a large portion of our content. Videos from the last few days aren’t playing, and images aren’t showing up most of the time. They’re working to bring the service back up right now.
We’ve disabled uploads for the time being, and will be monitoring it closely as service is restored to make sure it goes as smoothly as possible. Sorry for the interruption.

Takfarinas just one more question, how much AI cars can run on the Schleife. I mean, how much fun is a race with only 20 AI cars…
Thanks in advance.

looks built well
but like alot of tracks there’s a blue sky but everything below the horizon looks like it’s an overcast day. the grass is not bright enough and the tarmac is’nt dark enough, contrast contrast contrast doh!

My Main Critism on these Track-Status..(isnt its a Status..or its finished) :?: are these missing Trees at Hatzenbach
!!!
http://www.ghbiker.de/nuerburgring/ringrunde/hatzenbach/hatzenbach2.jpg
These Trees are so so important to gives a real Illusion for a great Nordschleife !
If they arent set right these Trees….its same then when you set a Wrong Tree for Virginias Oaktree
These Trees at Hatzenbach are an so virtual important Indicator..to make “A Real NordschleifeFeeling”! :!:
I hope they fix this very important grafical Point..becaus eits defenetly a Must Have ! :!:
In these Sence

Dunker, take a look at the real track, the colours are bang on.

not to my eyes nony, over-saturated colours and not enough contrast between the very dark nords tarmac and the quite bright grass it has too, so again we have another dull overcast looking track. still prolly an easy fix.

At Brünnchen, there is simply a green spot beside the track instead of the dusty parking lot.
hmm…
