A few days back I was blogging about how the community needs some answers on GTR Evolution, Simbin’s newest title. Well, some of them are below, together with five new mouth-watering screenshots.
Below is the official features list for the game which includes some new bits of info.

That answers a lot, 26 GT cars is more than I would have dreamt of. Sadly, Simbin has yet to show us most of them, until now we´ve only seen a handful of GT cars.
The new arcade mode should be fun to those that don’t like simulations and the new tutorial might help turn arcade racers intro proper simulation fans.
i really dont understand why theres no WTCC 08 in this, they surely cant be making a seperate game for that? or have they just given up to move to STCC?

It says we get 49 unique cars, but are these car new or are they mostly cars that they sold us in Race 07?
The tracks include Macau and Monza, hang on a mo, I have bought them off you once Simbin!
Exactly what are we getting thats NEW for our money with this pack. It seems to me that we are just buying RACE07 again with the Nurburgring track and maybe a couple of new cars thrown in.
Lets hope Simbin make this clear because this smells like a bit of a con to me!

@Anon: The page details the full GTR Evolution game, not the expansion pack. So to those getting the full game, they will be getting Monza, Macau etc etc. The expansion pack will include the GT cars, Nurburgring (I think we get the GP or Short version too), WTCC extreme cars, driving tutorial, arcade mode (worries me slightly, I can see a server list full of arcade servers) and what says to be better implemented weather

Keep in mind that GTR Evolution is sold as full game and expansion pack.
If you buy the full game, you have not bought Monza, Macau and whatnot before. And if you buy the expansion pack, you get the Nordschleife plus a heap of new GT, WTCC and street cars for 20€.
I think that’s nothing you can complain about, this is really a fair price if you compare it with other simulations.

I think that is advertising the product to new buyers of the full product. Owners of Race 07 will get the addon with the “26 brand new GT car models in 4 different classes, including a selection of exclusive production cars”, WTCC Extreme and Nords plus the refinements etc listed above.
For the £15 pounds for the addon in the UK I think thats a decent amount of content. It’ll certainly give my original purchase some more life while I wait for their first Lizard based product.

Wow we all answered that query at the same time!!! lol.
As for WTCC 2008 I should imagine that if they do another one as they have the licence, then it should be running on Lizard probably next year before the new season starts.

I hope the next WTCC game is on lizard. However I remember reading that their WTCC license expires this year. I doubt that it’s going to be picked up by another developer though. (IE stay away codemasters)

Dont worry, Simon, the next Codemasters game will be a drifting simulator with brand new gloom(c)TM and awesome super realism at 100% accurate japanese parking lots. You will be able to drive as either Justin Timberlake or Nelly Furtado, while Timbaland give you pace notes.

I’m glad they’re doing that, might make them a bit more money so they can continue to make great games. As long as I can choose Sim mode, and that sim mode is absolutely fantastic I could care less if there’s an Arcade mode.

Well actually I’m looking forward to the Arcade mode. Sure, sometimes I have the time and patience to set the car up properly and go for the real experience but just as many times I want to just leap in the cockpit and have a blast - at the moment I switch on the 360 and play Forza but soon I might just stay at the PC playing this instead.

Theres nothing wrong with Simbin going for the wider market with an arcade mode. Thats what business is all about. Come on you must see that. If you were in the business and knew an arcade mode would attract a much wider audience to buy your product, what ya gonna do??
Besides if it doesnt affect Sim mode there should be no reason for complaint from anyone.
I`d rather have a sim with arcade mode than an arcade game with a fake sim mode like GRID and probably the next F1 game.

What is the big problem with the arcade mode? Some people will love it. The rest of us can just ignore it and never use it, which works fine for me as long as there’s the simulation mode as good as it has been or better.
If it gets more people from arcade to sim, it’s a great addition because we are lacking people who want to drive something as close to real as possible.

I agree, if the sim mode isnt dumbed down who cares if there is a fantasy mode. Maybe some of those vegetables who claim GRID is the best racing game ever might learn something after a while.

Will be getting this as soon as it’s released. In fact I’d be buying it even without the Race 07 content. Really looking forward to this. Tried the demo of Race and LOVED the Formula car.

Anybody know if this is going to end up being locked down like Race 07 as far as being able to create mods for the game. I have so many mods for my GTR2 game I don’t think I’ll ever get through them all. I would like a newer version of GTR as long as the modding community as access to creating mods for it. I like Race 07 but thee still isn’t one mod for it yet. Skinning is all good but being able to create a F1 year of cars and not just skin the f3000 or create acurate Le Mans cars is where it is at. :twisted:
