GTPC by Virtua_LM Junior Team – New Previews

The Virtua_LM Junior Team has released a new previews of their GTPC mod for rFactor, showing us a wide variety of cars.

The shown cars include iconic prototype cars such as the Porsche 956 and the Lancia LC2 as well as lesser-known prototype machinery and GT cars like BMW’s M1. True Le Mans buffs will notice that the team has even modeled the Place de Jacobins, Le Mans’s town square that hosted the traditional pre-race scrutineering for many decades.

GTPC was formerly known as Prototype C and will bring a massive amount of cars from one of endurance racing’s finest decades to rFactor, centering around the 1983 Le Mans 24 Hours.

The mod includes both prototypes and GT cars and will come with over 300 liveries, including many rare cars of this spectacular era.

Looking so forward to this release…

The deeper parts of the cars, at the wheels opening for instance could use a bit more ambient occlusion on the textures.
It’s strange that places where light can’t come to be as bright as the outer parts.

  • Keijo

    No doubt.

asked our guy about it. he told me this:

yes it is the problem for aluminium parts.
on difusse texture I can put one but when hood is detach it will be darker.

  • Vivemclaren

    too dark* sorry.

I think now the goal is release it as soon as possible. We will see the improvement on rFactor 2 :)

But the almunium on the innerpart of the wheel arches will hardly be shiny, unless the polish it for the race, than it takes about 1 lap to have it matte again. An other lap and it’s almost black by the material that comes from the tires and get shot at high velocity on to the material.
When the hood or other parts are detached your race is basically over… Still the models and texturing looks great!

With rF2 you can use more real time shadows.
But so much material re-editing for a rF2 release probably takes another few years.

  • Vivemclaren

for rF2, we will work differently. No big pack… Small pack or even car by car. We don’t know ;)

So you have some cars more often :) I think it will be great for you and us :)

  • Keijo

I can hear some racing going on! Great work! ;)
