This looks so good that I went and ordered one. It looks like good value for money, including freight to Australia, such good value that even locally sourced products can’t match it.

I will post a short update when it arrives.

Looking forward to hearing what you think of it – i’m considering ordering one too. It seems as though they don’t have accessories for it yet though (monitor stands etc).
All their older stuff is out of stock so maybe they are slowly changing the whole range to this new Evo model.
It looks very nice, especially for the price.
The cockpit i’d like most is the Playseat F1 (with the real F1 seating position), but for £1000 they can go to hell. Not worth anywhere near that much.

The only problem I have with this is there is no way to mount a monitor to it. Other than that I like it a lot

It arrived!! Damn fast too, not what I expected less than 2 weeks.

It comes in 2 boxes, a large box that contains just the seat wrapped in plastic. And a smaller box that contains all the components, wrapped really well in bubble wrap. No damage at all.

It was really easy to assemble, they emailed me a pdf full of photos to help as the box contained just a single line drawing of the finished item. If you have never assembled Ikea furniture before you may want to get some help. And a strong coffee. ;-)

The rig is built from painted mild steel, so be careful of scratching it while assembling it, of course some black enamel will cover any scratches you do make – something you can’t do with powder coating. So consider this a plus. It is sturdy, There is a but though, due to it’s weight and the way the front bar work attaches to the seat base via 2 bolts either side (the seat is mounted to strong steel plates about 2mm thick) if you have to move it, don’t drag it, it will scratch your timber or tile floors.

I need to be able to move it aside, so made a platform for it to mount onto. I had a really nice sheet of high density plywood that was previously my desktop, which I cut a piece to size. I screwed 5 castor wheels to that, arranged in a pretty five fingered pattern. LOL. If anyone does this as well, don’t worry about the wheels being symetrical, place them so they support the weight properly. Nothing makes the wife madder than dents in her nice polished timber floor. I chose 50mm Nylon wheels.

    In conclusion:

I am satisfied with my purchase, the seating position is a little different to my previous rig which was thrown together far too quickly with no plans other than what was in my head. But I used that for 4 years so it may take a few weeks to get used to this one. I would recommend this rig to anyone looking for a reasonably compact rig.

It has no accessories yet, and it does need a keyboard tray at the very least, and a mousing surface would also come in handy. A small side table from a garage sale may be the answer.

I pull it up to my desk, then place the monitor on the front edge of the desk. Due to the height of the rig with the castor wheels I attached to it, and the fact that my Dell U2711 monitor is height adjustable, the position is just about perfect. I can actually adjust the angle of the monitor while seated, and the bottom screen bezel is below the wheel rim. I use a Thrustmaster T500.

Thanks for the quick review – it certainly looks nice in the pic, and i like your idea of attaching the sheet of wood to the bottom.
I had heard that previous Omega rigs were hard to put together due to lack of instructions but if they send a pdf that’s got to help.
I’m hoping to order one in the next two weeks, I just wish they had more accessories for it (like you say). I’m in the UK (where they are based) so delivery shouldn’t take long.
    Thanks again.
