The Grand Prix Legends modding community has released a very important patch yesterday, making the 1967 version of the legendary title compatible with longer tracks.
This is a cruicical feature for the upcoming Targa Florio track, with this issue out of the way the release of the 72 kilometer monster is closing in.

Following the two betas released a year ago, Team Players have released the final version of their Grand Slam mod for rFactor, bringing the DP class of the 2006 Grand Am Rolex Sports Car Series to the simulation. 6e66o has released a new batch of preview shots of the Targa Florio conversion project, showing us two edited and plenty of unedited shots of the legendary Italian track in rFactor. The Porsche 904 featured in the shots has been made by HistorX, creators of the Historic GT & Touring Car mod for rFactor, who have recently announced a co-operation with the Targa Florio conversion team. Virtua_LM has released GT Legends, GTR2 and RACE07/GTR Evolution versions of their popular Rouen les Essarts track for rFactor, bringing the spectacular historic race track to Simbin's most popular simulations. The legendary French circuit is a high speed semi-permanent racetrack, famous for its fast sweeps and the brickyard hairpin. Three months after showing us the last two of rFactor 2 screenshots, Image Space Incorporated has released a bunch of new preview material of their upcoming simulation. The previews show the flexibility of the engine as several forms of motorsport are portrayed, including a Kart race, a vintage Formula Car at Spa Francorchamps and a Renault hillclimb car. People still listen til Elvis and to The Beatles even if they didn’t record any new albums lately. Same for GPL which still have loads of fans, it’s a very special title for most of us old grumpy veteran simracers.

Only GPL track makers would dream of making such a track and work began on this track before the last generation of sims (i.e. rFactor/GTL/GTR2) was released. Its old age is also an advantage for long tracks – after all this sim was designed to run on the original Pentium with 16Mb of RAM. It remains to be seen if more modern sims can actually handle this size of track on current PCs.

GPL + Targa + Dino + 60 fps + H Shift = Heaven
Only thing that can top this would be having this track in rF and to drive it with CSGT or HistorX Mod.
