Sometimes good news come totally unexpected and this is a fine example. For a long time it was totally quiet around Fusion Racing’s Grand Am 2006 game as the ambitious project hit funding troubles and was eventually dropped. Even though the people behind this effort have gone their ways since then, the completed work will be finished up and released for rFactor by Team Players!

The creators of the F1 1995 mod are currently seeking permission from Fusion Racing to complete the mod, if anything goes as planned we could get our hands on the mod as early as late January for the annual Daytona 24hr race – Grand Am’s crown jewel event. Even though Team Players will be completing the mod, the team points out that its a joint effort of Team Players, iDT and D3.

The mod will consist of the Riley, Crawford, Doran and Fabcar prototypes and will bring some sports car racing swing to rFactor. While there is plenty of open-wheel and touring car series to choose from, endurance racing fans are still waiting for a proper sports car mod for rFactor – Hopefully the wait will be over soon :)
