Gran Turismo Gamer Beats Sebastien Loeb
Five-time World Rally Champion Sebastien Loeb is known to be a serious competitor, even at light-hearted events like the Race of Champions. When you beat him, you´ll know you´ve earned it the hard way…and that’s exactly what GTPlanet member Thanos did.
20 gamers had the chance to take on Citroen’s rally aces in the C42 showcase in Paris, driving the Citroen GT Concept car in Gran Turismo 5 Prologue. Thanos won the event by beating Loeb, taking home a brand new Sony Playstation 3 and other merchandise.
The most precious prize are the life-long rights to bragg about having beaten one of the best rally drivers of all time - Even if it just was a driving game!

He beat him playing GT though. That’s like beating a Tennis World No.1 at Table tennis (Not to take anything away from Table tennis).
I’d like to see him repeat that feat in RBR.

Sure, GT is not a sim but it’s simulation-like I think.
He didn’t beat him at a round of Pac-Man or Tetris but at a driving game. Of course, that does not mean much… but it is a nice story afterall…..

first i want to clarify something
Gran Turismo is from japan, and they have a different vision of a “simulation” which is quite different than our philosophy.
they can even simulate love rpg. in GT they simulate racing in a way that you can buy cars, take pictures of them, sell them, take license test.
they dont put a huge emphasis on the physic itself.. it’s more a graphic whore rather than anything else.
it’s like saying FF7 is a real RPG, it’s great. but it’s completely different from Baldur’s gate or even Oblivion.
that was my two cents :)
