Gran Turismo 5 – Two New Preview Videos

Posted on March 5th, 2010 in

Following the much-discussed NASCAR trailer released yesterday, two new preview videos of Polyphony’s Gran Turismo 5 for the Playstation 3 have surfaced.

The first, taken at the Nissan Gallery in Nagoya, shows the Nissan GT-R Super GT race car at Tokyo and the GT-R road car on the Nürburgring Nordschleife in silky-smooth 60fps 720p HD resolution. The second gives us a first impression of the title’s driver animations, showing Subaru WRC driver Petter Solberg and his co-driver Phil Mills at work.

Gran Turismo 5 will be bringing 1000 cars and over 60 tracks to the Playstation 3, including new features such as damage, weather and day/night effects. There’s no date for either the release of the Japanese or the International versions yet.

Here’s an interesting video comparison of real-life GT500 GTR onboard camera, to the version in Forza 3 and the one from GT5 (using the above video): http://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showpost.php?p=3777238&postcount=7482

I need to know how the force feedback and steering feel compares to GTR Evolution, that alone will determine whether I buy a PS3 just for this game. The fact that they developed this game for the Logitech Formula Force GT wheels (the one I use for GTR Evo) gives me hope, but still, I would love to hear from someone who tried the game.
