Gran Turismo 5 – Top Gear Test Track Video

A new Gran Turismo 5 gameplay video shows off one of the all-new tracks in the upcoming Playstation 3 racer – The Top Gear Test Track.

Located on the Dunsfold Aerodrome in Surrey, England, the track is arguably the most famous airfield in the automotive world as it’s regularly featured in BBC’s Top Gear programme to evaluate both cars and drivers.

Gran Turismo 5 will be bringing 1000 cars and over 60 tracks to the Playstation 3, including new features such as damage, weather and day/night effects. GT5 will be one of the first six Playstation 3 games to be available in 3D. The title will be out during the holiday season, no exact date has been announced but Sony plans to announce a new release date by the end of October.

  • swainy

saw this this morining haha catch up

  • SuperKillo

    Fucking driver!!!

  • RacingSlippers

hehe yeah, the Topgear track should be a good selling point to the millions of viewers, and this vid appears to show that the family pet can even have a go, value for the whole family

  • Ross Siggers

Not all the news can be posted immediately you tool, have some consideration

  • Ross Siggers

Never has england been SOO GREEEN!!!! xD

  • gtrNL

What’s up with the cones? TG T track does not have any cones.
And I do agree, it’s quite green.

  • marcel82

    Some say… he’s a terrible driver

  • Ross Siggers

The test track is in all versions of the game, like, international? I guess not everyone will know it, obviously

  • WiZPER

Looks to me like it was a very hush-hush and classified preview-test, since they obviously blindfolded the driver 😛

  • ($_$)

    Oi, just calm down. mate.

  • Carbonfibre

Dear Kaz, just release the damn thing, seriously…

  • Gaiajohan

They want to releas it, and afaik they’re producing it. It’s not Kaz’s fault, blame Sony who’re mandating firmware 3.50.

It looks like it will be released around December 9th.

  • Gaiajohan

Or even better, blame the hackers, low-lifes who don’t want to pay for games.

  • Gaiajohan

That’s a contrast that’s too high because they’re filming it from a screen. If they’d use normal video capture it would’ve a normal colour.

Just film GTR2 with a camera. It will have the same high contrast..

  • Ross Siggers

I’ll say what I want ta’. In my eyes, it was very rude and obnoxious, and I just wanted to point that out.

  • Carbonfibre

The truth is though, nobody knows the reason for the endless delays. No hard facts have been established yet, only speculation.

It’s true, there are points that support piracy theories, but there are also points that disprove it too.

  • Marcel Penzkofer

Exactly what I thought. I never have been very good at GT5P (except the difficult cars like the F40, which is awesome to drive and where I am in the Top 20 of the rankings) but I bet even with an inverted steering axis we could have done better than this guy in the video…

  • Jezza

really would that also be the same as rfactor? obviously you havent seen GTR2 or rfactor Filmed with camera off screen so i will give you some to look at.
    gtr 2

Oh yes they are sooooooo bright and green (insert sarcasm)

Rfactor is my video and only looks glary because i had been playing with a HDR mod.

  • nedge2k

top gear has 350 million viewers world wide….

  • Ding Dong

Looks like the stig has a massive hangover from a huuuge gasoline binger!

  • skeemo

Terrible driving. But interesting that the car does stay on track or doesnt spin. Makes GT again more arcarde-style than a sim.

  • vik15

I also think that’s because of being cell phone captured. Only curious why they still have not released any normal cable captured replay video.  As regard of your rFand gtr videos it show their also weird dark olive, hardly green grass which I seen only at winter.

  • Jezza

yes but they arnt stupid bright colours, and if it was captured on cell phone i would expect the grass to not be as bright and a lower frame rate in the video. so i think personally its just terrible grass full stop on the top gear track as the ferrari has good colour

  • mariojsilva46

the end of October was yesterday…I still do not know of any new launch date!!!I bet that will be for the year 2011!!!!thanks guys……. 😀

  • mariojsilva46

why not realesed in october, when the game is already done?why not release a demo?so all we enjoyed the game until the release date!!!one or two cars end tracks were welcome until it!!!!

  • vik15

It’s too bright only from cockpit view(gess it’s a camera adjusting). On other views it ‘s just a fresh green grass, the same I see  almost all the spring/summer season.  Perhaps it’s your monitor problem. Over-saturated greens are quite usual.

  • m0nty

Demos aren’t easy to make and take away from development time. If they spent time working on the demo we’d be waiting ewven longer. GT5P was your demo.

  • Jezza

Yes a profesionally callibrated Samsung 46″ LED that i now have, yep my colours a sooo terrible and over saturated….. Idiot

Its the game its not our moniters.

  • vik15

« Professionally calibrated” – WAKE UP . Any monitor is calibrated only when you have a colorimeter and calibrate it by yourself. And before buying anything “professional” read something. Most of professional models are WIDE GAMUT. You will always have strongly over-saturated colors everywhere on such monitor except a few “color managed” applications like Photoshop (and only if it’s set correctly and you know something about color managment)

  • Jezza

vik stop being a lame ass. the game has terrible colours full stop and professionally callibrated believe it or not there is such a thing. obviously you havent had yours done and your just upset.

  • Fudge factor

    it’s rFactor?

  • Fudge factor

    (without the phys)

  • vik15

    <img src=”file:///C:/Users/me-4/Pictures/grass%20color.jpg”/>
Guess your ”professionally” is s just an advertising hype. Don’t believe it. Get rid of a wide gamut monitor, buy a colorimeter and try it by yourself . It’s not a rocket science.
And I do not assert the colors are great in this video. The in-car view is definitely over-saturated and over-contrasted due to cell phone or whatever . But look at this picture, not that much of a difference in the grass color saturation. And the right side is a frame from Top Gear with absolutely natural colors.

  • Gaiajohan

You know there are several modes in this game? Not only one ‘sim-mode’? Just play the time trial demo or GT5P before you spill your nonsense on the net

  • lans

    but much better graohics
    animated pit crews,
    Next gen weather physics
1000 cars and unlimited number of tracks

  • lans

i luv u jezza marry me this second

  • Fudge factor

    much better graphics?

    next gen weather?

    unlimited tracks?

Hmmmm.    It can look beautiful, I’ll grant you, but……there’s nothing very special about this vid, nor many others which we’re seemingly inundated by daily.   The really beautiful stuff is coming from the games built-in render engine – “photo-mode”.  Actual game play doesn’t come close graphically, and obviously leaves a fair bit to be desired on the physics and stuff too.  Surely a great game potentially, but…..not quite the beauty the marketing boys want everyone to believe.

  • lans

Fudge are you telling me thar rfactor looks better than gt5?

  • lans

the snow and rain react to physics and g forces exerted, snow stages change dynamically and develop ruts, does rfactor have this

  • lans

@fudge does rfactor have a track editor?
