Even though Sony has yet to confirm an official release date, various evidence suggests that Gran Turismo 5 for the Playstation 3 will be available in stores this month, maybe even as early as less than two weeks from now.
Several websites are reporting that retailers have been informed of a planned release between November 23 and 29, differing in exact dates from source to source. Sony has yet to make an official release announcement, it seems like they´re being extra-cautious this time to avoid another delay at any cost, in case something goes wrong with the distribution process that’s underway for quite a while now.
As reported earlier, several people have already gotten their hands on retail copies as lots of video material has surfaced on Youtube. The videos reveal some interesting stuff such as the extensive tuning menus, car dealerships and more.
A hot topic of discussion have always been GT5′s sounds and while many have dismissed Polyphony Digital’s statement that the final sounds will be revealed in the retail version, it seems like the developers have kept their promise as both the premium and standard cars in Gran Turismo 5 seem to have received majorly overhauled sounds as you can check out below.
Gran Turismo 5 will be bringing 1000 cars and over 60 tracks to the Playstation 3, including new features such as damage, weather and day/night effects. GT5 will be one of the first six Playstation 3 games to be available in 3D.
