there are good drift games, but games where they have a counter and gives you a points score for fish tailing *yes some games you can simply fishtailback and forth to get points wtihout actually countersteer drifting*. D1 GP for ps2 did a good job because it gave you a drift score after you finished.

Sensekhmet: Wake up people, drifting is becoming a motorsport. Just look at the criteria considered in judging drifting at the highest level (Formula D, etc., not some teenager tray sliding his mom’s cross over SUV): they measure speed and angle using on-board devices. And in tandem drifting it’s pretty obvious who was better (if not, they run again). I’m the first one to criticize drifting as a flashy ricer show-off, but it’s starting to change. Just read up on the regulations, I’m willing to bet you’ll be surprised.

Paul Kelly: 1,000 vehicles: What a misleading joke. So we’ll have 48 versions of the Impreza, 34 versions of the Skyline and 27 versions of the Lancer Evo to inflate that total?
How many unique vehicle makes and models will we see, Sony? Nowhere near 1,000.

Hopefully the AI has been improved! Wonder how many updates there will be? I still cant download the Prologue update. Only bought a PS3 for GT5p and what a disappointment. Needs better sounds – they should employ Ducfreak & WolferL I was a hardend GT fan, but my money sits on FORZA for now…

Wake up people, drifting is becoming a motorsport. I was actually waiting for the official specs of GT5 so that I could decide whether to wait on actually purchasing a PS3 or not. But I’m not really impressed by what was revealed. Aside from graphics, GT5 doesn’t seem to offer much of what is already available on PC. Looks I won’t be getting a PS3 anytime soon, oh well.

I’m pretty optimistic that all cars will feature the interior view, but only 170 of them will come with interior DAMAGE. Otherwise, it would in fact be very disappointing, since I’m solely using the interior view for driving, but I can hardly imagine this …

im excited for this. hopefully it doesnt have that quick tune feature from GT5p and let you actually buy upgrades for your car. and i hope they get rid of the drift mode, the earlier version didnt have that, its silly to get judged in a game for your drifting lol..

Thats Brilliant! They made us wait for so many years and they only manage to detail 170 cars with interiors and damage! That means that game will mostly be quite similar to GT4, because some cars dont have the interior view! Damn You Polyphony!
Forza 3 has interiors for all their cars! They better make more interior views or i will not buy this game, just becauseit will be an Evo of GT4.

UncleChuckle: Aren’t they supposed to be including Top Gear on the TV thing? (Or perhaps it’s already in Prologue.) Didn’t Forza say 100 tracks?

TURN 10 counts every variation, short, reverse, etc. Seeing Shift comes with 19 locations and 55 variations, FORZA3 will probably have somewhere around 35/40 real locations. (guessing here ;) ) GT5 looks to have 60 locations and 20 more additional coming, so more or less double what Forza offers. And do we really need 1000 cars, I still enjoy the 4 coming with nKpro :P

Should Sony officially present the PS3 Slim, they will have one more person interested in a possible bundle!

170 are new cars that was not available in previous GT games. And it says “with interior corresponding to the damage) which probably means that the these 170 new cars would also have interior damage as oppose to just exterior on the other 830. There’s 60 tracks confirmed and 20 more to be announced (this doesn’t include the different configuration). Another thing to remember is that GT5 will probably follow the same model as GT5 Prologue in that it will come in different Specs and this being Spec 1 (the last version of Prologue was Spec 3)

One feature that strikes me the most is the use PS Eye as a head tracking device similar to trackIR.

I keep hearing off GTplanet that those 170 “premium” cars are the only cars that have full damage. If it’s true, I am pretty disappointed. I like the way they called premium though. It smacks of Kaz’s slimy used car salesman persona.

God the next few months are going to be unbearable. But I think Polyphony will be quiet. The irritation and hype will be from the bearded dolt at Turn 10.

As I said in the other thread, I was getting psyched for Forza, but then I watched the promo vid from E3 again which is full of cars handling just like real cars DON’T and my interest has waned again.

And didn’t Turn 10 say they’d have the largest number of cars? 400 is less than 1000, right? Fairly certain that’s not changed since I left school.

Of course GT will include 157 different GTR’s like always:)
