Gran Turismo 5 – New Nordschleife Preview Video

The 2010 Consumer Electronics Show at Las Vegas is already over but material from Polyphony Digital’s presence is still popping up. The video below shows 60 seconds of Gran Turismo 5 on the Nürburgring Nordschleife, sadly the driver has no idea how to keep the car on the track. We won’t see a full lap of the Ring until PD brings a showfloor demo of their title without a time limit in place.

Contrary to the positive buzz about the demo shown at CES, Gran Turismo 5 recently made the headlines for all the wrong reasons again when the announced March-release of the Japanese version was called off.

Gran Turismo 5 will be bringing 1000 cars and over 60 tracks to the Playstation 3, including new features such as damage, weather and day/night effects. There’s no date for either the release of the Japanese or the International versions yet.

Framerate doesnt appear to be smooth ^^

This kind of driving reminds me of my friends.

Person X: The brake is for pussies.
Me: I’m 3 laps ahead of you.
Person X: You’ve played this before.
Me: I’m in a Honda Civic.
Person X: Well the Lister Storm sucks, why’d you make me choose it?

haha it looks pretty good imo, seeing how the car was all over the place.

This vid reminds me why we dont have more Sim-like games on console or for masses, because majority of the dumbfck media dont know how to drive and would bad mouth a game for being too hard lol.. I just tried gran turismo on psp for the first time on a friends PSP and i took an rx7 on nordschleife and I did dam good for never touching that game b4. lol

    Framerate looks fine.

And it’s only 55 seconds of actual footage. Not 60. *pedant*

Isn’t it kind of hard to go airborne on that track?

  • Bullet66

60 seconds and some of the WORST driving at the ‘Ring I’ve seen since my first week of GPL in ’98!!

You can get airborne at Flugplatz with a non ground effects car, I’d imagine.

Hey, this might be released for public sale in time for the 100th anniversary of the ‘Ring. :happyevil:

I barely see an improvement over GT4. Stikll bothering whether I really should buy the game when it comes out, or just sell my PS3,,

  • UncleChuckle

Just sell it and buy an Xbox and Forza.

At least Forza is tangible and you can play it:) (Though in an ideal world I’d have both. Sadly I ain’t made of money, so Camp Forza for me.)

Polyphony Digital should release some of those demos to the public. It would be nice.

That can has a wing and a lot of other things, it looks almost like a GT300 car, those have tons of a ground effects, and it was only going about 80MPH on top of it.

I already have an XBOX360 with Forza 2 and 3..

Bought a PS3 for Prologue and sold it. Gran Turismo has always been automotive Pokemon. Fun if you’re in the mood for it, but don’t expect to race.
