Gran Turismo 5 – GT Academy Demo Coming December 17th

Sony has announced to be releasing a new demo of Gran Turismo 5, starting the 2010 round of the GT Academy competition in co-operation with Nissan.

The demo will include Nissan’s 370Z sports car both as a stock and tuned version, paired up with a not yet revealed track. The second GT Academy online competition will give every Playstation 3 owner to prove themselves in the virtual racing world, the fastest drivers will move on to the semi finals and might end up in the actual GT Academy held in late March. The winner of this final meeting will be contesting in a full FIA GT4 championship season, driving a Nissan 370Z race car prepared by RJN Motorsports.

Last year’s GT Academy winners Lucas Ordoñez & Lars Schlommer went on to compete in the Dubai 24 Hour race alongside well known drivers like Johnny Herbert. Eligible for the competition are players from most European countries as well as Australia & New Zealand who are at least 18 years of age. The quickest US & Canadian racers won’t be invited to the GT academy but can win VIP tickets to next year’s Indianapolis 500 race.
