Gran Turismo 5 – First Nordschleife Gameplay Video

GTPlanet has managed to get their hands on a high-resolution video clip, showing Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi driving on the Nürburgring Nordschleife in Gran Turismo 5.

The clip is part of a visit to the Polyphony headquarters by the Finnish gaming-magazine Pelaajalehti. Footage of the Nordschleife starts around 1:30 in the video below, we get to see Yamauchi driving the Lexus IS-F from start/finish all the way to Wehrseifen which is about a third of a full lap in the green hell.

Gran Turismo 5 will be bringing 1000 cars and over 60 tracks to the Playstation 3, including new features such as damage, weather and day/night effects. The title has been announced to be released in March 2010 in Japan, dates for the US & Europe have not been given. A demo version will become available on December 17th as part of Nissan’s GT Academy competition – More info on that here.

I hope that we’ll be able to dial in more exact steering input ‘connection’ into the graphics (were it shows your steering input exactly in the graphics), and the ability to activate real time shadowing (shadows showing as the car passes these). Overall the graphics look really immersive!

This seems to be an older build (closer to GT5 Prologue)- the newer GT5 demo shows that there’s paddle shifting (animation) to cars with paddle shifter which the Lexus IS-F has. With Prologue there’s only stick shifting.

Looks good (better than GTR EVO?), not a hardcore SIM, but not an arcade. The cameraman was very unskillful.

Looks promissing… By the way, does anyone know if there will be Nordschleife for GTR evo with shadows? Thats what it needs…

    “Thats what it needs…”
And bumps and a huge graphics update with bugfixing. :)

I think my SNES had better sounds then we are hearing from this game. The same went for GT4 and all previous version. Please, get the sounds right for this one. The rest looked pretty decent, with the exception of the steering wheel not matching actual inputs.
