Yesterday was a rather sad day for everyone looking forward to Gran Turismo 5 as Polyphony’s press conference at the Tokyo Game Show ended all hope of a release in 2009.
While Japanese GT fans will be getting their hands on Gran Turismo next March, a date for Europe and the USA has not even been announced. To soften the blow a little, several new videos are available, showing two very popular cars that recently made their way into the GT franchise.
The first video shows first gameplay footage of the brand new Ferrari 458 Italia that was already featured in a GT promo video a few days ago. The other two videos show Mercedes-Benz’s brand new SLS AMG in Gran Turismo.

That last video, my eyes now feel generally deceived between RL and GT5 now it’s almost painful. That’s not nice Polyphony!
Oh and Active aero! – Not that I could see happening in-game though, as it was stuck up all the time, but in the trailer it was so.

Hopefully it finally releases in March 2010 without any further delays.

Odd, same here and it works flawless.
Try to clear your cache and see if that has an effect.

If this is what I am waiting for then I have no trouble waiting. Its not like there are no racing sims to play (GT2, GTR Evo, rFactor, LFS, RBR, GT5p, FM3, NFS Shift[maybe
], Race On and maybe even rFactor II).

Very strange, I´ll look into it later today. Kind of hard to fight an error you don’t see yourself though

By far the best thing I’ve seen so far in GT5 is the pitwork animation… Port that to rFactor! LOL

Something reminded me just now; I hope the Renault Sport Espace F1 makes a return in GT5, I miss those special times in GT2.

Have a F1 pit crew to service a showroom stock VW Lupo lmao jk
I can wait, they probably decided to add damage since they would get judged by game reviewers for not having that stuff compared to shift/forza etc.

Middle video, the VERY LAST shot of the SLS, can you see damage on the nose of the car? I can, surprising, I wasn’t expecting damage on the Mercs, of all cars.
Also @ carbonfibre, active aero has been seen ingame in a few places.

Why there’s no sounds in those videos?

It’s less about game reviewers than that Polyphony Digital feel they are in intense competition with the Forza series. For example, the premium cars thing didn’t cover over well at all with just about everyone out there. I don’t think they liked what went down at E3 either. PD might say they are above listening to fans or their competition but I think the reality is far different…
