Gran Turismo 5 – Dodge Viper ACR Videos

Youtube user mimaximas has added two new preview videos of Polyphony Digital’s Gran Turismo 5 for the Playstation 3 to his channel. This time, we get to check out a race in the Dodge Viper ACR both from cockpit view and in replay mode.

The car has been driven using the Logitech Driving Force GT Pro wheel, the game’s pro physic settings and no aids.

Until now, mimaximas has uploaded over 40 videos, all of which can be watched in his Youtube channel.

Gran Turismo 5 will be bringing 1000 cars and over 60 tracks to the Playstation 3, including new features such as damage, weather and day/night effects. There’s no date for either the release of the Japanese or the International versions yet. GT5 will be one of the first six Playstation 3 games to be available in 3D.

Looks like the same thing Forza suffered from – Horrible eye points.

EmptyBox: Looks like the same thing Forza suffered from – Horrible eye points.

Comparing GT5 with Forza 2.5 is a disgrace exactly the same way comparing the PS3 and Xbox is a disgrace in it’s own specially when the title hasn’t even been released!

Back on topic this looks marvelous I wonder how long will take to see this kind of graphics and details standardized for PC this is simulation of real life environment in it’s best. Big shame we are already in 6 cores CPUs and the likes of 5870 2gb and GTX 480 should help!

  • mattabater

its the lighting, those models aren’t that great, as great as you think anyway  .

guess I’ll wait to play it in natural full hd and then see if they are “as great as I think anyway” or not

Ye the lighting work is just amazing.. the game looks very good! Looks better than Forza.

Felipe in PC you have Shift it already looks good, add some graphic mods and it looks damn good, it doesnt have GT5 lighting though but than consoles couldnt handle it .

  • mattabater

I’m gonna cry now “sarcasm”. and it could run on most current hardware let alone gtx480′s.

Give to a developer time (5 years) and 60 millions and you can have 2x times better game than GT with the current hardware on PC…but with all the piracy going on i don’t think any developer would even bother cause they know they are never gonna get their money back…

The future of PC racing sims is games like iracing..

Is that good or bad  ? There’re things I really like in iRacing but the game feels pretty much unfinished and incomplete. I’ve bought pretty much all the road content but I don’t think I’m getting my money worth but hell to it lets support sim devs

Well it’s definately good for the devs because they know they gonna get their money….and eventually it will have more content which is good for us..

what’s the point of this vid, we can already drive this car in prologue, maybe if there was some sound with these vids we could hear if there was some improvement…

I actually don’t find the lighting perfect. In some games it looks better ( Crysis for example) It looks indeed better after almost always cloudy an dull rFactor with no lighting at all but not perfect. It looks like a video captured by a low dynamic range cell phone or security camera: a half of a scene is overexposed and other half is too dark.
But we need to wait for a real, cable captured videos to be sure. Perhaps those one are made with the exact same cell phone I am talking about.

Which is why I’ve moved my support to the GT and Forza series, plus whatever other decent console series turns up, possibly F1, the WRC game, who knows.

I’ve no doubt iRacing is brilliant at what it does, it’s just I’m a car fan, and it’s the wide and varied car selections in the GT and Forza series that attract me.

  • racedriver

    Forza is cartoony lol

These are again cam videos of old build.

I do not like the cardboard trees at Indy :sad2: but everything else looks great. GT is the only photo-realistic racing sim. It looks like CGI or real pristine cars coming from the factory or showroom. So nice … as some one said GT5 is car porn

What is a disgrace is your attitude towards everything on this site.

It’s the same exact crap as Forza’s Cockpits only done marginally better. Still no freaking detail in anything. And even PD made the ACR look like a feraking monster truck.

But hey, you won’t care cause your dying of asphyxiation. Better take your nose out from PDs rear.

yeah i know the lighting in crysis is amazing. for rfactor i use enbseries with siggs settings adds some direct x 10 level lighting. can get it all here hxxp://www.nogripracing.com/details.php?filenr=17995 its tiny.

I definately miss the sound in all those videos. Some wannabe Steve Vai riffs instead of the viper sounds are somehow weird… Game looks good, if they physics are as good as the graphics I’m gonna buy this. ;)
