Gran Turismo 5 – 2.0 Update Released + DLC Announced

Polyphony Digital has released the free 2.0 update for Gran Turismo 5 that was announced last week. The update adds a bunch of big features such as in-race saving & simplified interiors for the over 700 standard cars to the title.

For a full list of features and previews of the changes, make sure to check out this posting. The update can be obtained simply by starting GT5 with your Playstation 3 connected to the internet.

Furthermore, Polyphony Digital has released details of the first batch of DLC content that will be available starting October 18. The content that will be available via the Playstation Store is split into four packs, bringing new tracks, cars and accessories such as new paint colors.

Perhaps most importantly, the track pack will introduce a very important new circuit to Gran Turismo 5 as Spa Francorchamps will be added to the title alongside a new karting circuit. Where ar the NEW cars? I only see race modified from cars already in the game…. as usual, very disapointing…

  • ZombieJim

Spa? Seriously? With weather no less? Shit, I’m going to have to re-install.

  • Ross Siggers

Spa? wow, now that’s great :D

  • sandboxgod

Those tracks look very good. I am actually looking forward to some of those touring cars as well. Even that pruis looks kind of tight

T’es jamais content, toi… Ta vie doit être bien triste pour ne ressentir le besoin que de grogner…

    Pauvre bichon, va…

You know, Nicolas, this is a state of mind : if you see only the negative aspect of things, and only speak in a negative way, how do you expect positive things to come your way ?

You really need to feel some love, mate… Sending you some from Belgium.

I don’t think GT5 has enough skylines, so really there should be more in DLC!

Sarcasm aside, it’s cool that they are getting Spa.

Well, back to Forza 4 and Race 07 for me

SPA and the kart course too looks beautiful. 1.1gig of update for a console game is great effort

Simracing community and nobody talks about the (very low in the updates list, as if it wasn’t important at all) “updated physics”? hmm…

  • Big Ron

The update was great. Not all features and improvements, I was calling for. But all in all a great update, especially physics-wise.

The PSN-card is already here waiting for the DLC.
