Aah, looks to be a great update. Good to see not all of the standard interiors are just black; Also like to note that the caterham as always seemed to be the best looking car in GT4/GT5standard.

  • Alex Sawczuk

Wish we could “borrow” their lighting model ;) . The current generation of consoles are really showing their age now arent they though.

  • Saleem Hodge

Wow in car view for all cars and full support for the g27! I guess it is time to blow the dust off of this title and show it some love again!

  • Alex Ventura

Feels like the “new” iphone… all show and no go. Those simplified interiors are pathetic.
Almost makes me want to buy a 2nd hand X360 to play Forza 4.

  • racedriver

They are doing a gret job with these updates. I never thought they were going to do since the game has already sold to nearly 7million in less than a year. Good job

Wow, this update adds everything that really bothered me about GT5.  For myself, the worst thing about GT5 was the lack of online sorting, but now that they are adding it, shuffle races should be a lot easier to find.  G25/7 support and mid-race saves top it off for me.

Saving multiple setups is another great additon. I don’t have any other major complaints, but there is one thing I would *love* to see added…more tuning support!  Tire temperatures, improved telemetry, etc. would be awesome.  Even a system similar to that in Shift 2 would be worlds better than what we have now.

Maybe that will make it into a future update.

  • Raymond Tsui

Finally… support for the G27. About damn time.

  • Ghoults

For me the biggest thing about this update is the improved ai and physics. Also the cockpit views for all cars sounds really nice but it does nothing for me unless they fix the ridiculous amount of headbobbing…

AI is really really bad now though and is in dire need of big improvements imho. I really hope pd also improves the car classes so you can have races in arcade mode where you can race full fields of similar cars like superGT, vintage sportscars and lmp cars instead of having vintage ford gt40, GT500 nsx and ferrari 330 in the same race where you are using audi A4 dtm car yourself.

Physics updates are also nice and I hope they do more than just fix the bugs with the setups.

The new iphone will cost you.

    This update is FREE.

    - Simplified interior views added to all standard cars. ;)

You tell us, the concole generation is aged, but you want to borrow the lightning model? Isn´t that a big contradiction. You actually find no PC-game with such a good lightning model.

  • Alex Sawczuk

Well track wise, it has simple shaders, with out even bump mapping and simple multiplication maps. The TSOs are low poly. The textures are really low res in places, look at the number plates. And then it can’t handle enough polys to have proper cockpits. Yeah i’d say its aged.

  • Big Ron

Oh my god, the old comparision of texture resolutions between console and PC *DONT_KNOW* The console never had resolutions like PC, even you should know that. But where is the problem? GT5 still looks great even with lower resolution textures at some places.

  • Nicolas Grignon

Yeah….. euh… wait a minute… the black interior like on the PSP?  like one said… how pathetic…

  • Nicolas Grignon

Yup, it’s like kaz is no more leader, but the outsider who is desesperate to catch up… Maybe spec III in few years will be what GT5 should have been from the begining.

  • AeroMechanical

Looks like some nice improvements, but I can’t bare the thought of going back to that horrible, horrible grind.  The physics aren’t good enough so that I can be entertained mastering a single car.  That would be okay if they made up for it in variety, which they theoriteically do, but the grind to achieve that variety involves doing the same race in the same car over and over and over again.

What it needs is an offline-only mode with everything unlocked.

  • Big Ron

    @Nicolas Grignon
If you would be informed and would have watched some screenshots, you wouldn´t need to write this comment ;)

  • Lennart

That’s his point! The lighting model doesn’t look outdated.

  • Pashalis Gergis

Exactly.. And oh well it says SIMPLIFIED…

  • Alex White

    Catch on up what exactly?

  • Alex White

Cockpits are fine in all the premium cars.

  • Norbi Wo

    damm, cockpits looks ugly :D

  • Crimson7

Yay! Now I can do endurance racing properly.

  • Ben

The feature missing for me to get back into GT5 is “recover savegame from stolen PS3″ :(

    CLOUD SAVEGAME PLEASE

  • Big Ron

with a premium account and you got your cloud saving

  • WillKill K

I’ve never owned GT5, but are those screenshots really the interior? The dials looks like pictures and everything is very low res. I don’t want to jump to any conclusions, but those interiors are worse than some most mods for rFactor.

  • Daz

Don’t use the cocpit view for racing GT5, so the lame addition of the standard interior’s doesn’t bother me as much as some.

Interestng to read of improved physics and AI. Hope they are actual improvments.

Endurance save game option was a no-brainer. Nice to see replay FWD/RWD feature added.

  • svizzy

probably put the camera into the same model u see from the chase cam hence nothing in the closed cars. could have done this for the release of the game.

  • Bakkster

    Catch up on Forza 4…

  • Alex White

Those are standard cars, in other words, Cars from GT4. :)

Check out a few videos of the premium cars, they are so, so much better

  • Alex White

In what possible way is adding cockpits for a few hundred cars ‘Lame’ ?

  • Alex White

Because they are standard cars. Not premiums. Premiums are pretty :D

  • Alex White

Forza needs to catch up on Gran Turismo. Gt5 has already sold about 6.5 million copies.

  • Clive Lomax

Have to say the greatest thing about this update is now the H pattern shifter on my G25 WORKS! I really enjoyed trying it for the few spare minutes I had last night and Im dying to get into it again.. PADDLE and SEQ shifters…BOOOOO!
