Gran Turismo 5 – 2.0 Update Details & Previews

A week ago, Gran Turismo 5 creator Kazunori Yamauchi announced that a big “Spec 2.0″ update would be coming to the Playstation 3 racer for free in the third week of October.
Now, first details on the update have been revealed and it is quite extensive indeed, adding a bunch of new features and content to the title.
Most importantly, the 2.0 update adds a simplified interior views to the over 700 standard car models in GT5 that came with no cockpit in the initial version. Furthermore, the new version will also allow to save during endurance races and fast forward and rewind in replay.
The new version also adds some new content as new NASCAR Sprint Cup Cars and the Schulze Motorsport Nissan GT-R N24 in which Yamauchi contested the Nürburgring 24h race with will be added to the game.
Features of the 2.0 Update
- Simplified interior views added to all standard cars.
- User control of the weather change feature.
- Settings sheet which allows you to save multiple car settings.
- New Spec 2.0 opening movie.
- Improved UI response and usability.
- Replay forward/rewind.
- Mid-race save feature for endurance races.
- Expanded online lounge features (narrowing down car types, shuffle races…).
- Expanded Photo Travel features (you can now take photos of cars together with your avatar).
- Added “NASCAR Pit Scene” stage to Photo Travel.
- Added 11 new 2011 NASCAR models.
- Added the Nissan GT-R N24 Schulze Motorsport
- Improved physics and artificial intelligence.
-Support for the Logitech G25/G27 steering wheel.
Below are a bunch of previews, showing off some of the new features such as the new interior views. Following the release of the 2.0 update, Polyphony Digital will be starting to offer DLC content as a “racing car pack”, a “course pack”, and a “racing gear pack” have already been confirmed to be in the making.
