GO-GO Multi Function Gaming Chair Project

We`ve already seen lots of interesting sim racing rigs and wheel stands but here’s something unique and new as OMGIGHO has unveiled their vision of a gaming chair/work station that can be turned into a living room rocking chair.

Before I waste a lot of breath explaining the concept, check out the video below as the inventors show off their idea:

Features

· One Heck of a Race Car Driving Simulator – Whether you’re into Gran Turismo or Need for Speed, NASCAR or Formula 1, we feel the GO-GO is the ideal setting for the simulated driving experience.

· Comfy Workstation – The GO-GO allows a quick way to set up a portable and fully adjustable workstation in your dorm, office, den or media room.

· Ultimate Commute – Do you have the option to work from home? With a fully adjustable auto seat affixed to the GO-GO, you’ll work in complete comfort. Plus, it will be the only auto seat you’ll need to get in and out of during the course of the work day.

· Eclectic Show Piece – The GO-GO looks smart and sleek in either rocking chair or game/workstation mode.

· Driver’s Ed. – Teaching others to drive?  The fully equipped GO-GO works with all PC-based educational driving simulation software used at today’s driver education schools.

The project is now on Kickstarter as the guys hope to raise $10.000 for the chairs production, almost $8.000 of which have already been reached with 21 days remaining.

Wow they only need to raise $10? :-P

Sounds interesting…wonder what the final cost will be? This would more likely pass the aesthetics test with the wife than other setups.

cool invention, but, I don’t have a laptop and it doesnt look that comfy as a chair.

If they make it cheap, it might look like the answer to me pleas. Make it affordable, throw in a monitor stand right in front of the wheel, and you’ve got a sale.

  • Anonymous

Its nice how they have made it and it depends on price and I’m sure there is a market for it

But for me the whole point of getting a sim rig would be to have the wheel mounted and in place perfectly without having to adjust it , on the console side I don’t get why people would be playing driving simulators in there living room miles from a TV on a device that can barley put out 1080p graphics and almost always has lacklustre physics.

consoles for me are for pick up and play arcade games or playing sat around the TV with friends.

This thing seems to be fantastic. They get 20$ from my side as support. If the price isn´t over 1000$, I would really think about throwing out my armchair and buy one of these.

That’s the most wife friendly rig I’ve seen. The price point, however, will be critical.

    Haha awesome, great rig! :)

High praise Ron! And thank you for your support! We have a full set-up at the 999.00 reward level. That’s a fully assembled GO-GO base, The G27 wheel/pedals/shifter and the black auto seat. So essentially all you need to do is bolt on the seat and plug it in.
Thank you again for the feedback.

    Hello Alejandro,
That is our aim, and we currently have a DIY assemble GO-GO for 399.00.
We are just starting out so first we have to hit our Kickstarter target and get it all rolling efficiently. We do have monitor stands and other accessories in line for the future, so keep your eyes peeled. ;¬)
    Thanks for the thoughts!

  • http://www.facebook.com/omgigho Omgigho Cse

Thank you Jswarthoff. Laptop not required, and just about anything can be attached to the tray that locks in place including a flat panel monitor.
And without boasting, suuuuper comfy. Fell asleep in it first try. ;¬)
Think car comfort and rocker motion, add a good book, slide the seat all the way back and rock out. (ok bad pun, but you get the idea)

This does look pretty sweet and I am always glad to see new things for the sim-racing market. I am def interested in this and hope they succeed and continue to develop sim-racing products and add-ons.

  • http://www.facebook.com/omgigho Omgigho Cse

Well we can always use more than that, ;¬) and hope that we meet our goal and get to stay on Kickstarter for a while. But we have already invested a lot of our own money and the 10,000 will go a long way to setting up final logistics.

  • DDD II

Looking at their page you can get the assemble yourself, add your own seat & controller setup for $399.00 and the 80% assembled version for $499.00. It goes up from the $399.00 in various stages but for the price point you mentioned you get a fully assembled version, including seat and the Logitech wheel/pedals. This is the donation stage pricing which does not seem too bad already so hoping to see it even lower with a full production if the reviews are good. Good luck to these guys, checking my funds now :)

How much and does it come in black?

  • http://www.facebook.com/omgigho Omgigho Cse

Thank you for the input jwjameswest. Tho we may be in differing markets, I can see what your after. If you are interested in something more affixed and custom perhaps we can help you there too. There is much more to come from OMGIGHO so keep in touch. ;¬)

Prices for the Kickstarter launch are below and yes it will come in black. ;¬)

Yay! Thank you Chris! We hope so! Cause I think we all have family who looks at the driving rig in the corner and sighs, don’t we? X¬D

HUGE Smiles DDD II ! ;¬)
    Thank you!

If I may hazzard a aguess, is the DIY assembly intended to reduce shipping costs and ease the whole process? I like the idea of building an Ikea-like rig.

I’ll admit that I didn’t thought it trough very much and having a big monitor stand right in front of the wheel would defeat the cockpit-to-rocker utility, but maybe you guys have something figured out. Maybe making the monitor stand come from the floor so it is independent from the wheel/pedal structure and it stays where it is when in rocking chair mode.

Well, just my thoughts. Best of luck with the project and I hope you’re able to give Playseats a run for their money!

  • http://www.facebook.com/omgigho Omgigho Cse

Yes and no on the DIY. Shipping isn’t too bad of a difference, but finishing and assembly is time consuming and very “user defined”. Honestly the DIY is there for people like me (Colin) who can less afford the money and more afford the time and personal touch. ;¬)
Yes there are some options we are exploring for stands that depend on size and weight of the monitor/TV of course.
So again, more to come! Friend us on FaceBook, and “like” the GO-GO for updates.

  • Big Ron

Wow, that is a fantastic price. Ok, so I think if this gets real, I will order one of them.

  • Morgan Henstridge

Pledged for the $399 Flat Pack this morning, Looks Great :)

Wish i knew about this 3 weeks ago when I decided to build my own wooden chair base that will literally go in the bin when this arrives :)

  • Peter

Hmm like the DIY option but for that its too expansive. 400$ for some thin pices of wood and a few screws? For 200$ i would definitly buy it.

  • Big Ron

Wow, I am very new at Kickstarter and saw your pledge-versions just after submitting my 25$. I am very excited to be able to already choose a system of my choice. Too bad some more important things need to be paid within the next week. So I am just able to order a system in two or three month. But I think I will definitely do since it sth. I have really usage for that seat. Hopefully your prices and version-offers will stay similar to what you offer at Kickstarter.

  • Big Ron

Since it isn´t commodity and also smaller production units, prices are always higher than what you get at Woolworth. How should Omgigho being able to get the production costs back and also earn sth. out of it from selling a seat for 200$? Seing other “racing seat systems”, it is a very fair price…at all it is multifuntional.

  • Peter

    where is my prev. post?
Ron: they could go like all cheap top quality product go: mass. We are a race crew of about 8 people, for a loss leader all of them would purcase one. Yes and only cause its multifuncional! 6 out of 8 dont have a own room for racing. For 250-300 bucks you get a racing – office seat or other good products that a wife will acceppt. And most of them are not “can be done by own” or DIY.

  • Big Ron

I also don´t have an extra room for a racing rig. So that´s why I find it pretty cool to have something that is an armchair that can be turned it into a rig. Of course they could go mass. But I think the problem is that this kind of thing isn´t sth. for the mass market like a controller that you could produce hundret thousand times. It´s just about the audience that might not be as big as in other cases.

But to be serious, I saw much different and simplier stuff for more than 400$. So for me it´s a good offer.

Very cool… looks like a concept that would actually work! – and the prices seems very reasonable, best of luck :)

    crazy

  • http://www.facebook.com/steve30x Steve Farrell

I love it buts its well outside my budget

  • BroKen LiZard

I really like the concept of this rig, and will definitely
be purchasing the Go_Go in the near future once it’s compatible with the Fanatec
    range. Top work guys.

  • Xteria

Good idea in principle, but looks a bit to bulky and has that multi fitment look to it that makes it look a bit too overly complicated.
