Game Stock Car Extreme – Version 1.20 Update

Reiza Studios have released a new progress update on the planned 1.20 version release of their Game Stock Car Extreme title.

Reiza Studios have released a new progress update on the planned 1.20 version release of their Game Stock Car Extreme title.

We have been observing a lot of understandable anxiety regarding the release of GSCE v1.20, so we feel it would help if we clarify the reasons for these delays and what the situation is now.

As you probably know, along with all the new cars and tracks we have also been developing several new functionalities for GSCE – these involve some heavy-duty programming, and that side of things has been concentrated on the hands of one very special guy. Unfortunately this very special guy has had a serious run of bad luck over the last 2-3 months, which have meant we have been effectively 2 weeks worth of coding work away from having all the necessary v1.20 functionalities in beta state throughout this time.

This predicament has not only kept us stuck during this time, but also prevented us from making any realistic prediction as to when we´d effectively be done with v1.20.

The good news is that “the man” has been back in full force so we´re effectively running through those remaining 2 weeks of development since last week, and everything is pretty far along now.

We fully understand the anxiety – rest assured no one is more anxious to get this out than ourselves

Version 1.20 of Game Stock Car Extreme will introduce the Formula Extreme, Reiza’s fictional take on the 2014 Formula One rule set as well as the nimble Formula Vee.

Furthermore, players will also get their hands on two more brand new tracks as both Buenos Aires and the Austrian Spielberg track will be part of the release.

More info on Game Stock Car Extreme can be found on the official website.

Best wishes to your “special guy” and the rest of your team. : )

You’ve never released anything that felt rushed, so I wouldn’t expect (nor want) you to start now. Thanks for the update, though!

  • Leeman

Well, this is good news. I admit to being one of the “anxious” people waiting for this release. I’m especially looking forward to the new tracks.

  • Marco Hooghuis

    “The man”=Niels Heusinkveld?
Whoever it is, I’m sure they’ll figure it out. They always do.

    • David Dominguez

      No, another man.

      • Niels Heusinkveld

You’re mistaken, I’m THE MAN when it comes to complaining about the work of programmers, without having ANY programming skill myself.. 😉

      • Eric S

      • StarFoxySxv550

Oh, so rather than being “The Man”, you’re “That Guy”, to the programmers at least. ;P

      • Keith G

Finally a thread worth reading! – very funny, thanks for the laugh

  • myvracelog

Is this on steam and if so would someone be nice enough to link it? ty

It’s not on steam but I have always said it should be, the amount of people that would buy it on steam would be insane.

      • myvracelog

yes they need to do this.. NOW.

    • melanieuk1

I would purchase it, if it was on steam.

      • kenpat .

MelUK, why not get it through RD, It’s as easy an install as from Steam and the Gsync function makes updating a breeze. I know you love pCars and AC, so do I but this really is a great product at a great price. C’mon dive in. They deserve our support.

  • RATM

What i admire on Reiza is that they dont go the “alfa beta delta” way like ISI, Kunos, etc.
Make a software->Sell it->Thats how things should be,

    • melanieuk1

Thanks to ISI they don’t have to go the alpha or beta direction as you call it, if they created ‘their own’ simulation engine from scratch, like Slightly Mad Studio, Kunos and ISI it would be a different story.

      • F1Racer

Very true. Nothing wrong with the path that LFS/rF2/AC/pCARs have taken. It’s all working out.

      • saistalab

Pcars/rf2/AC engines scratch made? Youre kidding right?

      • EZehnder

Project CARS and AC engines were made specifically by SMS and Kunos, respectively. They were not derivative works like Reiza using the rFactor engine as a base.

So yes, they are scratch made in the sense that they are not derivative works of someone else’s work.

      • melanieuk1

Thank you EZehnder, just has I logged into VR to reply, you’ve said it you mindreader 🙂
And to add yes they are, they are not licensed from another developer.

      • saistalab

Theyre all newer formulations of in house already existing gmotor, madness and netkar pro physics engine. By the way reiza is adding code on top of the core engine. Or else theyre paying this “special guy” for nothing.

    • Marco Hooghuis

You can always wait for a v1 release. The only exception is of course rfactor 2, but that really is the only one.

  • Marc Collins

Glad they are being honest and up-front. Their past history of exceeding expectations and providing great value product makes me more than willing to wait a few extra weeks for this one delayed item. Don’t sweat it, Reiza–we still love you 😉

  • F1Racer

Take your time guys. Some of understand the trappings of real life and that sim-racing isn’t the No.1 priority. We will look forward to it’s release whenever you feel it’s ready.
I know it’s going to be worth the wait because it always is.

    • HammerX

Oh man reality just hit me with that one. I must be a dead beat as racing is my No.1 in my life. Wait, what life? 🙂

  • Julien

    Hi !
Anyone knows how to retrieve the update ? i tried Gsync and reiza website, no trace of update… any ideas ?

    • David Hughes

Wait a couple of weeks as per the article 😉

      • Julien

        My bad… i thought the update was released… 😉

      • Mario Strada

Don’t feel bad: I fell for the same thing yesterday.
Not only that, I fell for it again today.
I am just working too much.

    • sickbroski

  • sickbroski

My game says 1.15 how do you get the latest update?

    • MiniFan

The topic title could be clearer – perhaps

Game Stock Car Extreme – Version 1.20 delayed

      • ftrracingtv

Its an update on the update lol

  • Arie Beuker, de

That screenshot looks like “da bomb”.
Too many sims/games, too little time.
Said it before, i wish humans could do with one hour of sleep.
But we would probably have longer working days as a result as well.
