Posted on March 1st, 2010 in

FVRFactor has released  their 2010 Australian V8 Supercars mod for rFactor, bringing the current season of the popular touring car series to the simulation.

The mod contains all V8-powered Ford Falcon and Holden race cars and drivers of the 2010 season that receently kicked off at Abu Dhabi and Bahrain.

FVR V8 2010 comes with brand new & scratch-made models, sounds, skins and RealFeel-compatible physics, making it a must try for touring car fans. Initially released for rFactor, the mod will also be converted to several Simbin titles later on.

It’s a shame the FVR mod can’t compete with V8Factor for physics and immersion, because it has nicer looking skins and, obviously, it’s updated more often.

    My thoughts exactly.

The V8 Factor guys will be releasing their “Unleashed Mod” during this year which will be awesome. It will cover 07,08 & 09 and the car models look fantastic.

I think this one is pretty good, but it does lack that sense of brute V8 power the V8factor gives you.

Shouldn’t be to hard to drop the V8Fator physics into these models for private use.

Can’t agree more with all of the above comments. It’s good mod for sure.
But the V8Factor is just a little better. :)

Is this only update or what, bcos there is no rfm file??

Flash and crew made this scratch mod for people to enjoy. V8 factor is great, but for some hitting the sweet spot tough. This mod is packaged towards the folks that want to race V8 Supercars and not have to spend hours learning how to keep the cars on the pavement and looking for the “alien” setups :sd: I enjoy both mods! Plus having is mod in GTR2 and GTR-Evo is a plus :sd:

Here’s a note from the first release:
FVRV8 is a scratch built mod – its purpose to bring back enjoyable racing for all levels of driver. We have tried to incorporate a good setup in the cars whilst maintaining what we believe are real grip levels.

Kudos on the mod. Relly a shame that people can’t thank them for their efforts; but instead choose to bitch about trivial things. :weird:

do you know if there’s a gtr evolution version of this mod….?

I think is good in the overall but the cars understeer a bit…..

I really like the Mod! Its easy right out the box and AI racing is fun too. There are many trivial things that I don’t like, but as Deano mentioned there is no need to bitch about it… With a little experience you can turn this mod to your own likes…

    Just for the books

The physics side of it I think are a lot better than our 08 and 09 and 2010 1.6B versions and V8Factor personally. V8F has just been around longer and convinced everyone that a $500,000 racing car drives like crap. As for the immersion, what is missing?

Guys – if you could judge the 2010 1.6C version of the physics over the unreleased version that you got your hands on. When we made our physics we decided to make it without trashing the setup to make it easier to get a good setup. If the physics are correct then the car should drive fairly well straight out of the box anyway. Getting that extra 2 secs is a different thing. We would have very similar engine and gearboxes as V8F, we have a different suspension package in 16C and we feel closer to the real thing. Having watched the V8’s and the telemtry data yesterday, I think we are fairly close, when you consider they are $500k cars and we’re using a $50 game. Its all a matter of preference.
