FSONE 2009 1.0 – Released

International Pro-Modding has released the latest of their FSONE mods for rFactor, adding the 2009 Formula One season to the simulation.

The feature-rich mod includes all cars and drivers of the past Formula One season, including new helmets, physics, 3d arms and more. The mod is available both as single player and multiplayer version for league usage, the single player version includes the KERS system that was used last year by several teams.

Features:

- All 2009 Cars .
- All 2009 Drivers including Testers .
- Brand New Steering Wheels .
- Brand New Helmets .
- 3D Arms Option .
- Brand New Showroom .
- Brand New Tires Model .
- New Tires Texture ( Soft and Hard Option ) .
- All Cars updates by G.P .
- All Helmets updates by G.P .
- Brand New Physics .
- Brand New Suspentions .
- Brand New Engine limited at 18000 .
- Kers Option For Single Player Edition .

2009 was an intense year of competition in Formula One. Following major rule changes the winter before, the field was mixed up by a surprisingly quick Brawn GP team and new technologies such as the much-discussed double-diffusor and KERS. While some teams such as Brawn and Red Bull coped well with the new regulations, other major teams like Ferrari and Mclaren fell behind, creating a quite unusual Formula One racing season.

    Great !!!!
Thanks very much for your hard work FSOne, downloading now, 1,8M°/sec with MegaUpload ^_^

    Edit :
    Amazing mod, many thanks!

  • driving god

    No torrent? :sad2:

    Still, awesome!

  • morfivsr

Hi guys! Another download link :)

  • eddiespag

Great! By the way, will anyone please help me locate a usable/available/existing download site for the FSONE 2008 SP&MP version? Thank you all and enjoy racing the 2009 season!

  • axiscyclonus

    superb

  • drowsy

I thrashed the Ferrari around for a little while. Mod seems really good in terms of handling, the car felt a little loose, just like it seemed to be through all of last season. Graphics and sounds are excellent, too. Now I just need to figure out a way to make rFactor’s force feedback feel… Decent.

  • Hendrix

Looks good but kept stuttering pretty bad for me. Anyone have any performance tips?

  • MrCobbs

Wow. I havn’t been able to give the physics a real run-down, but I’ve got to admit, these guys know how to do things properly. Really impressed so far, I have a feeling this may be a challenger for the best we’ve seen on rFactor! Only one gripe, I don’t know how to make KERS work, and their lack of a proper ReadMe doesn’t help! :)

  • Hendrix

Actually..I take that back. Its now crashing rFactor when I pull out of the garage. Something is getting overwhelmed somewhere.

  • http://racingrenders.com F1Racer

yep, crashing me too. All over the place. If I try to take to some tracks with a full grid, rF crashes to desktop after you click on ‘Drive’.
Other times its ok but some car models and gfx are completely messed up beyond all recognition.
Also in the driver listing I get repeated ‘Chose driver updates’ for a lot of drivers.

All my settings are maxxed out and Ive tried DX9 and DX8 modes and its still the same. 1 car on track on its own is fine.

No instructions on the KERS either. Just got 12 stages of boost.

Tried the McLaren and I did notice that I could barely hear the downshifts under braking.

    Apart from that….

  • mike84

amazing mod so far

i am sure when they release a patch some of the small things will be fixed.
when driving red bull tcam the shift lights dont work on steering wheel.
shifting sounds are non existent almost.

as everyone said it would be great if they released proper read me file.

also anyone have good realfeel settings?

  • ZombieJim

Feels fantastic to drive – Completely different from the 2008 mod, and a shift up in quality all around.

The Toyota’s on-board sounds are so, so spot on. Cars are easy to drive and hard to master; 15 minutes of thrashing around Spa and I’m still 2 seconds off the pace of my team-mate, so it’s going to take me a proper night’s rest to get up to speed. I’m not a good driver on 4 hours sleep.

Thank you unendingly for what to me so far is easily the best mod of the year.

  • rich1701

Thank you for the time and effort put into this mod, the physics are the best thing.

I’m a bit miffed why the cars have external v10 sounds though.

  • Deano

Glad it has finally been released. Now mabye the kid’s will stop the “Is it done yet”?

At least for a month or so anyway.

  • Hendrix

Are you getting the massive stuttering as well?

  • driving god

According to the RFC page, the KERS system is coming in V2.

    Kinda lame.

  • http://racingrenders.com F1Racer

    Hendrix:
Are you getting the massive stuttering as well?

Yeah, when the car gfx get corrupt, the framerate drops like hell.
If I uses the FSONET testdrivers then all is good. But if I use the proper field of 20 drivers (with the 3 ‘chose driver update’ names) it all goes nuts.

A shame, because in the main, this mod looks amazing and the physics are excellent.

  • driving god

I had the problems with warped cars and stuttering with FSONE 2008 when I had more than 18 opponents set under ‘Rules’. Something to do with the test drivers, it’s strange that they haven’t fixed it for 2009.

  • Dicey

I’m running into an issue when I set wet tires within the tire compound selection under upgrades. I’ll try to get on track and it will go through the load screen and then just blank…nothing at all. Don’t know if anyone else is seeing this problem.

  • Wil

Piece of art! Looks and feels incredible. Those slick tyres and the increased mechanical grip are amazing!

  • Joni

Same thing for me as some guys allready mentioned. With full grid gfx gets totally messed up and in a few game crashes. Quite funny that they havent figured out this kind of big bug at beta testing.

  • Allyc4t

Cars look great but just like 2008 the cars handle like crap

  • TheStigNL

Great mmod. I’ve got 1 problem with it. I have downloaded it from MegaUpload but the mod won’t show up in the game. Anyone who can help me?
EDIT: If only got SP version not the MP does that matter?

  • digitalxni

    mike84: red bul

There is a reason for this but I can’t remember what it is! Same with FSone2008 and all other f1 mods I’ve played where the shift lights are on a dashboard rather than the wheel. I don’t think there is a way of getting them to work.

  • driving god

It’s just a little glitch in rFactor that was never fixed. Shift lights on the dashboard won’t show up in any view other than the cockpit.

  • Gulyo

5 years old crappy shit … forget it … WHERE THE HELL IS RF2 ????? :haha:

  • r4c3

Try setting the opponent car detail to high instead of full, it worked for me and the game doesn’t crash anymore and works just fine and the exterior detail of other cars is still the same as in full.

  • Uff

Gulyo: 5 years old crappy shit

Wow, you’re talking about yourself! I think you’re a bit OT here. :sd: This guy should relly be banned.

I’ve managed to download the SP version of the mod, can’t wait to give it a try: hopefully there will be a torrent with SP+MP. I would gladly help with seeding (and that would avoid servers from being unavailable due to the bandwith limit exceeded).

  • paupau

    Well, thank you

  • http://racingrenders.com F1Racer

r4c3, thanks for that. It worked for me. No more corrupt cars or crashes.

  • MrCobbs

I remember having similar problems with 2008 – Adjusting the Opponent Detail to High always worked for me, and I automatically did it for 2009 without thinking, which is probably why I havn’t encountered any graphical bugs :) I have noticed that it can’t seem to cope with the sound of more than a few cars together, but that may just be my lack of a decent sound card.

  • RobertsLV

I haven’t tried this mod yet, but I won’t be bothered by losing some graphical quality with not setting everything on full, because it will probably shutter very much.
What kind of PC spec you all have and how many FPS you get?

  • http://racingrenders.com F1Racer

RobertsLV: I haven’t tried this mod yet, but I won’t be bothered by losing some graphical quality with not setting everything on full, because it will probably shutter very much.
What kind of PC spec you all have and how many FPS you get?

Im getting between 300-340fps in quali and 100+ on the grid at the start.

Erm.. Im using an I7-930 @4.00Ghz with an NVidia GTX480 which should be enough to stop the stutters.

  • MrCobbs

Is anyone having problems with AI Difficulty? I’ve set their strength to 150% and I’m still 3-5 seconds quicker on an initial lap…

I’m no expert at driving, and I don’t think I’ve become -that- good overnight :P

  • zudthespud

I have a NVidia 9800GT with a 2.8GHz dual core processor and I was having no fps issues at all by myself in a test session. Everything was on full, except for shadows.

  • http://www.fsone.es KIKONI

If someone have the problem, than when he put more than 10 cars or so in track , the rFactor Crach, please do this .

    – Put the Grafic Setting to ” HIGH” AND NOT ” FULL ” , and will fix the problem … we are working on Release a High Texture Pack to work with “FULL” Grafic setting for people who have this problem .

    Regards;

    I.P.M

  • rzezol
  • cosmo1973

Great mod so far apart from the downshift sounds. Physics seem pretty good, difficult to push without changing the default setup which i like. Car models are fantastic and the engine sounds are good. I’ve had no problems with fps and i’m running a 9800GT and a 2.9Ghz dual core cpu.

  • pleb

grr how annoying that it was released on a sunday night, now i’ve gotta count down the minutes at work…!

As for the downshift sounds, i guess i’ll have to do a bit of audio swapping, i cant stand to not hear downshifts. It sounds very familiar to LMT’s F60 downshifts

  • Raikku

    Is there trackpack included?

  • pleb

I dont think so, but i hope.

i had to format my HDD the other week and lost about 2 years worth of rfactor downloads, 30+ circuits :[

  • http://www.youtube.com/user/flaux1 Flaux

Can someone compare the physics with the 2009rft ones? What are the differences?

  • the_last_name_left

Thanks for finishing this. FS06 is the best F1 mod imo (without realfeel)

pleb: 2 years worth of rfactor downloads, 30+ circuits :[

    Never heard of backups? :D

and 30 tracks in 2 years? lol. that’s one track every 3 weeks. YOu don’t like hard work, eh? ;)

  • pleb

I couldn’t backup, harddrive was knackered.

as for the tracks, it was probably double that number becasue of the multiple versions of circuits. either way im having to start back from scratch so i was hoping fsone released a trackpack.

  • http://www.apatch.org Ahmad

    thanks

  • JGoenR

Thanks for bringing another F1 season to rFactor IPM!

  • Lordofminor

I extracted everything to rFactor lite folder, but I cant see FSONE2009 in the game (profile – settings – league or whatever it is called)
    What now?

  • Deano

Gulyo: 5 years old crappy shit … forget it … WHERE THE HELL IS RF2 ?????

Spoken like a five year old. :weird:

  • Cypher

Nah,looks ok but I think im gonna pass this one and wait for September till Codemasters release their F1 game.In the meantime Im having fun with oldschool F1 like F1 1985

  • mike84

best mod in years for rf.

after testing it more, for me its amazing mod.

    thank you.

  • swannyUK

Great mod! As mentioned above it just needs the audio for shifting up and down the box tweaked and louder.

  • axiscyclonus

oops. did a reinstall of rfactor because softth had screwed it up somehow. and.. well, now I’m back to scratch on tracks. anyone got any good suggestions for tracks? possibly links. only got catalunya really now, the ones I had before were all mostly edited versions from a simraceway mod I’m not sure they’ve released. a little annoying.

  • http://gtevo.blogspot.com/ GTEvo

    Amazing, Amazing, Amazing..

    Mod! :ooo:

  • cmfbento

Hey Fsone members , great mod …

    I only cant understand 1 thing …

Why SP and MP versions are not together????

I think the graphics are the same files , and the changes are on .VEH files , HDV files, PM and TBC files (text files) …

So why we have to do a 800+ mb donwload and a 600+ mb dondoad????
    … think about that.

Apart from that the mod is Great … good job.

  • gundwane

Now who cares codemasters F1 game..:)))

Thanks so much for the help! The mod runs like a champ now for me as well. While I still prefer the early 90′s cars, these are a blast to drive too!

  • mouse_77

A big THANK YOU to the boys at I.P.M for creating this beauty.

  • Dark Racer

Yeah many thanks to IPM, the cars feel really good. Very professional MOD!

  • fobbz

Please, can someone please share with me how to setup the moving f1 arms? It says it includes them within the mod, but I’m racing and they aren’t moving?

  • rich1701

Fun physics, great textures combined with superb bump maps and good menu. Updates also good.

Base car Modelling and sounds (external) need improvement though.

In the car Updates section (when you have chosen your vehicle), you can enable the arms using the 2nd option in the list.

  • sam92

cant change tire texture after reboot( exit n reopen d game), crash when choose wet tire texture ( stuck a loading forever) :haha: :haha: :haha:

  • Toto

I think that 2 rfactor mods are nearly perfect : FSONE 09 and CDTP 06.

I just want to thanks a lot FSONE team for providing us a so great (and free) mod.

I have drive 2 hours with the mod and I have see only very very good things.

    Thanks again

  • Vedster

Much better than RFT mod, but not enjoyable because of poor sound, down-shifts missing, it kills driving completely, i will wait till that is fixed.

  • swannyUK

The green stripe on the softer tyres would also be cool :sd:

  • zand

Thank you FSONE. Even better than 2008 season as you guys promised!

Just fix the exterior and the down-shifts sounds, also the small bugs and it will be the best F1 Mod ever!

  • stabiz

    Its there, in the upgrades.

Why don’t you just replace the fsone sounds with wcp ones?

  • paupau

Did anyone read rfc lately? I have never read such bad comments on a mod release, coming from what can only be described as ungrateful pricks. Your either being fanatic about someone else’s F1 mod or have no sense of decency.

Ungrateful and rude. But IMO they are not much better than people who say the mod is perfect because that is just as unhelpful for improving FSone’s future efforts. I would like to see more constructive criticism instead of rude comments which are kick in the teeth for the team.

  • rci808

HEY I.P.M , WHY DOES THIS MOD CRASH THE SERVER!? :sad2:

Not sure I would agree with that. I think IPM know that if someone says it’s perfect, that it’s not to be taken literally. IPM will know themselves if there are any ares that they can improve on and they will know from previous comments here that their are outstanding issues on this mod like the missing downshift sounds (even passing the ones from FSOne08 didnt help) and the 3 ‘Chose driver update’ driver names that appear on Ferrari/Renault/Toro Rosso.

As for those that bad-mouth the mod. Well yes, they’re brain dead arseholes of the highest order.

They don’t call it “Generation-ME” for no reason.

That being said I am looking forward to loading this up tonight even though KERS won’t be available till version 2.

  • creatorex

Mod is the top… sounds and other minor issues are easily fixable and HAVE YOU TOOK A LOOK IN THE QUALITY OF THE MODELS AND THE IMPRESSIVE PHYSICS???? Mod can be improved by adding some other value such as car configs per track and etc. as CTDP but it’s the best mod for this year and to the CTDP06 level of course.

People tends to mix their technical issues with the MOD and that is not justice with the MOD makers who worked hard and worked as professionals to get this truth and give us a F1 unique experience.

Pick WCP sounds and just it :)

  • the_last_name_left

RFC comments content is shameful. Criticism is one thing, but there seems a concerted effort to denigrate FSOne09.

I can’t see this as helpful – it isn’t going to produce any more, nor better MODS. The opposite.

  • Joni

well after playing this mod for while must say that physicks are kinda strange. suspension changes other than springs hardly makes any difference to handling. SS tyres are also cocked up, i tried those yesterday in several track including monaco and singapore and those didnt last even 1 hotlap in good shape, just overheats immideatly no matter what kind of camber or tyre pressure used, quite funny that soft tyre is actually like sec in lap faster in all tracks. But really the biggest complaint i have is that there isnt any feeling what car is doing under you while driving, basicly you feel only centering spring but hardly any other ffb effect. That makes driving to feel like you would be floating around the track with magic carpet instead of driving race car.

Then about gfx, the thing i dont understand is that why fsone made cars look awesom in t-cam but then cockpits looks awful. Its like from 2 different mods when you first look awesom t-cam textures, then hop in to cockpit and see all those blurry/jaggy textures in it.

  • rci808

turn auto-clutch off and things get real

  • swannyUK

Joni, i don’t know what wheel / settings you are using but i can feel the car moving around, almost locking up etc.

I love this mod, i’ve even got used to the lack of downshift sounds now. The AI are good to race against when set up properly and the cars feel great to drive.

    Well done all involved

  • digitalxni

Love this mod and everything about it! Sure there are things that need tweaking but with talk of a version 2 coming at some point I’m confident that FSOne will be fixing anything that isn’t up to scratch.

Anyone know if it’s possible to change the RPM LED sequence on the steering wheels to reflect those of the drivers?

  • Joni

I have G25, and yes there is loads of force in centering spring but that not really like it should be. If you drive lets say like ISI BMW in silverstone you can feel every single bump trough your wheel and thats not the case with fsone, actual ffb effects (bumps on track etc) are barely noticeable and centering spring is way too strong so it feels kinda numb to drive.

  • svizzy

very nice mod. downshifting sounds and some highres textures would make it even better.

no problems with ffb here im using realfeel+leosffb i can post my setting if you want.

speaking of leosffb. i noticed during setting leos up that every car uses the same suspension values.

  • cosmo1973

For those of you who don’t like the missing downshift sounds, somebody called vagabond on rfc has posted a link to custom physics that fixes the missing downshift sounds and improves the physics. I’ve tried it and it makes this great mod even better. Check out the fsone 2009 comments and you’ll find the link.

  • tifone7

hey men, but where is trackpack? it is not included on mod rar.Can you help me?Thanks a lot.

  • kevmscotland

Great mod, I must admit my only issue was the physics/FFB.

Thankfully, I found Vegas physics update and its a perfect compliment to this mod.

  • Jermainesmit

    GREATEST MOD!

  • txemalaraz

i only use realfeel & leos together never testet 1 without the other in this mod. if you use a different front wheel lock angle in your setup please change it in leos as well. for slip angle you can use 9.21 as well the .tbc was a little strange to me.

  • rich1701

First i want to say I wish i had the technical skill to do modelling, I don’t and I respect those who can. I’m an F1 artist in my spare time so I have a good eye for detail.

The quality of the models is not as supreme as many people are suggesting. It bugs me because they put a lot of effort in putting all the updates on the cars but overlooked the basics in some areas.

There are lots of improvements that can be made with base modelling. First and foremost The Williams nose section is much too low and wide, it is very noticeably inaccurate. The real fw31 had many iterations during testing, but in season it ran with quite a high nose. The rest of car is of high quality though.

The Ferrari rear wing assembly is too large in proportion to the rest of the car, it looks a little bizarre.

The distance between the Ferrari nose box and the front wing is too a touch too narrow, and the front wing itself needs more detail. it looks rough.

The toyota front wing is too thin.

The Mclaren front wing is too thin, but not to the same degree as the Toyota.

The top of the Renault monocoque and nose section is too flat, it needs to be more curved.

The monocoque section of the Force India around the cockpit extends outwards too much and is far too triangular, it needs to be straighter, especially noticeable from an onboard view compared to the real car.

The Redbull looks very good though, so does the Brawn.

In general I prefer F1RFT 2009 models although their wheelbases are a bit too long and i think and their Brawn car is not as good as Fsone’s by a long way, but this is an exception sadly.
