What ?? Where did this suddenly come from ??

Cool. What a good way to start my Easter hols. Thanks guys !!!!

  • Siggs

DAMN! now this has surfaced on VirtualR, my download rate from the mirror has dropped considerably.

    *curses* :sd:
    .

  • Ryan Gilmore

Really impressed. Steering wheels are beautiful and some of the models are really impressive. AND AND AND Finally the tyres are proportioned :D
I like the nice addition that the rain textures (non physical) have the associated flashing rain light.

    Good work!

  • tezuka_18

    So how’s the realfeel support?

  • Vkt

oh dear , this is awesome lol :sd:

  • http://racingrenders.com F1Racer

I love the easter egg :) LOL creepy.

  • stabiz

What in the ??? Haha, this is awesome!

  • kevmscotland

    Woah…………. just Woah!

Havent really been following this one, was busy with MMG 2007 and CTDP 2006 and was dubious after my experiences with RFT08 but thought i’d give it a blast.

And my god, its fricking fantastic!!!

Probably the highest quality Rfactor mod i’ve seen to date.
    Outstanding *applauses*

    Support realfeel?

  • mike

    really good mod

    outstanding modeling, cockpits, sounds, skins…..

just one question maybe its just me or the brake pedal feels really light. other then driving without TC feels easy to control the car, which is true considering the downforce they had in 2008.

    Thanx ,

comparing with another mods , maybe it s easy to drive realxy , but if u push to the limite i gess that u can make problems and seems dificult to mantain all time at limit .

no the brake is good , its become from F1 real cars data .

  • Vkt

I got this problem with the Single player Vers.

    http://i44.tinypic.com/2ljnma1.jpg

i cant see any car on the spinner

Any ideas of what is this?

  • CoDeX

easy temporal fix, extract of showroom.mas moncar.dds and moncar_b.dds to FSONE08SE or FSONE08SP and work

  • TheSTIG

WOW! Now this is something else! My infinite respect for MMG & CTDP, but this feels better. Works beautifully with RealFeel and the FFB is just superb. Also looks, sounds and drives great. Thank you guys for the best F1 MOD I have ever driven!

  • maxs

100/100 = perfect – this is what i expect from a mod , thank you FSONE , muchios gracias

  • MrCobbs

A brilliant mod, absolutely amazing. My only problem is that it crashed to desktop once and I got a message about a Display driver failing and then recovering. I’ve got most of the settings whacked up, but have done my entire time playing Rfactor. Is this much more taxing than all the other mods or do I have a seperate problem?

  • maxs

    MONCAR problem soultion

if you are using modern showroom , delete the showroom.mas from following locations:

    \rFactor\GameData\Vehicles
    \rFactor\GameData
    \rFactor

for now this is the only way to run the mod , but i am working on it fsone wrote that some dds should be included in showroom.mas

    cheers and have fun :)

  • CoDeX

you can fix with this fix “easy temporal fix, extract of showroom.mas moncar.dds and moncar_b.dds to FSONE08SE or FSONE08SP and work”

  • Siggs

I can run it fine with modern showroom

Anyway, this was a very pleasant surprise, I can tell you!
I wanna sum it up very quickly, don’t take my breifness negatively, I can expand on something if anyone likes.

Textures – Top notch, brilliantly sharp, with lovely bump mapping esp. the Ferrari. And the rims seem a bit jerky when in slo-mo from highspeed, maybe an extra rim file. The only other thing I’d say is that the McLaren needed a bit more reflectiveness

Models – Again, almost nothing to fault here either, some cars seemed simpler than others, but this was due to the real cars, not number of polygons etc. The cockpits could have done with a bit more detail in my eyes though. Again, the Ferrari is peerless, beautiful work there

Sounds – More of a mixed bag than the other catagories. Some cars seemed very muffled, the BMW I believe it was. Also, the Honda sounded like it had 2 different engine noises, one starting at mid revs. So it sounded like one car, then another on top of it, in every gear. And the backfire sounds were really prominent and crackly for an F1 car. But many sounds were great, The McLarens were particularly good I found.

Physics – The physics of this mod are very impressive, they strike a good balance on being a handful, and being able to drive very quickly, and cleanly. I found that I was confident to push quite hard straight away, but there were some great fun moments were I caught a bit of a slide, etc. The FFB feel is great, but I felt it was slightly loose around the middle. And that the only way to ensure a spin was standing then putting the throttle down. It seemed very safe to slam it open out of corners, regardless. Maybe a bit less tracion control? :happyevil:

+ Incredible models and textures, alot of work on that Ferrari
+ Very nice presentation, love the showroom and redisigned menu.
    + Challenging, but driveable physics

    - Sounds seem to be a mixed bag, plus that little wheel thing (not important tho)
    - A bit less traction, a bit stronger ffb in the middle

As always, bear in mind this is constructive critism, I have the upmost respect for what you guys have achieved here, If you could look at a few of the things mentioned, then it would make this mod just essential (it already edges MMG07 imho)

Thank’s for your time
    .

  • maxs

yes , you can always critisize even pope istn saint for me 100/100 :D , btw downloading trackpack :D

  • MrCobbs

    Theres a trackpack? I’d love a dload link ;)

  • MrCobbs
  • maxs

for me there is just one logic assessment in mod with highest quality like this OVERALL , and OVERALL this is the best F1 mod which exists for me :D

    BEST

i imagine when you meet new girl :
honey i like you but you could have thinner ass , and larger tits :o , but its constructive critisism :P

if its gonna be contructive write it on IPM forums :]

one thing i say BMW sounds to quiet :] – the rest perfect

you will find trackpack on RFC , but looks like not complete :(

See, this is the only bit I have an issue with. I don’t find this true at all.
These cars are spinning their wheels up from the exit of a slow corner (turn 2 at Brianza for example) in 3rd gear. Moreso, obviously in 2nd.
Also at Brianza, if you downshift to third on the entry to Parabolica then slam the throttle down around the corner, the rear of the car is going to step out on you.
In either case you dont even really need to be full throttle for this. So a delicate touch is required and I still need some refinement in that area.

In general I’m seeing a few people saying the typical ‘its too easy’ and ‘you can’t spin’ etc. and its getting tedious. Are you actually trying to spin? Because F1 is about going forwards.
Around Brianza I can make that rear end spin out on every corner if I wanted to.
I don’t get the ‘its too easy’ bit either. Do they think the mod was created for their pesonal skill level or do they not realise that there are varying skill levels in the communinty. Easy compared to what ? GPL ? Well yes I would agree there.
Driving FSOne08 without TC is a tricky affair. I just ran an online race got 5th in Quali and 4th in the race (thanks to nursing a damaged rear or it would have been 3rd).
I can assure you, keeping that rear-end in check was something that required your attention. Exit of turn 2, turn 5, exit of the 2nd lesmo and beginning-midway through parabolica (although to a lesser extent.).
I dread to think what Hungaroring will be like :)

Silverstone and Imola are a nice drive with this mod too.
Not yet tried Spa or Suzuka, so looking fwd to those.

Just to drift off-topic for a sec… can someone explain to me what it is about playing online where all these so called simmers turn into lunatics. Please don’t say ‘join a private league’, because I can’t give time to something like that.
They claim to want accuracy in a sim and to be as real as it gets, yet when they drive it, they do it in a way where in the real world, they`d be dead after 1 lap.
No respect for a car in front that might be a little slower. Gotta be past straight away no matter how they do it. Inside, outside, pushed-aside, cutting a corner. Whatever they like. Yeah thats realistic !.
No idea that the person in front might brake a little earlier for a corner. No coping mechanism for that one.
I did another MP race and there was 13 of us on the grid. I knew from quali and practice that this was going to be one big mess.
Again at Brianza… well of course, its obvious that people didnt make it around turn one. They tried for the Guinness record of fitting 5 cars around turns 1 and 2. Didnt work. I held back cos I knew it was coming, and drove through the mess. 4 cars finished including me. The other 3 drove sensibly. Crazy world online pickup races.

Great work IPM! I have all the F1 mods installed and this is at the best modern F1 mod. One small complaint though, the rev lights on the steering wheels aren’t working in Onboard TV Cam view. Don’t know if this is a problem that only I’m having or if it effects everyone.

Thanks for your work and effort!

It won’t work with Red Bull and McLaren because of a game engine limitation. It’s working in all other teams, at least in my PC.

  • Siggs

@F1racer, I’m not saying that the cars are easy to drive, don’t get me wrong. I have moments in them. But all of them seem to be on the move, tight corners at speed mebbe, slight tail out kinda thing, nothing exiting the corners with the throttle. Just a bit less throttle modulation is needed in those situations compared to CTDP of MMG.

Again, in no way do I say they’re plain ‘easy’ to drive, in fact if you read it, you’ll see I like the physics very much. Its just that one thing that seems odd imho.

Mitos: 3/5I`m waiting for MMGF12008 & using CTDPF12006 with pleasure at the same time…

3/5… Maybe if you told us what’s wrong we could improve it.
But well, you must be the only one that doesn’t like the mod…rFactor Central ratings say 4,73/5

Anyway I don’t care. I know we’ve done a great job and the comments prove it.

@Siggs: Well, I can’t say anything about the physics (KIKONI is who works on them) but about the sounds, I think that’s the best we could do. I’m not happy at all with them, but we couldn’t get anything better, and since making sounds it’s so difficult we (at FSOne) should be happy with what we’ve got.

  • Siggs

Thats a bit low Mitos, I though it edged MMG in modelling and physics, and textures.

@ GGSF1, the sounds are definately playable, when you get tons of cars together, they really do sound good :happyevil: . The one car which is odd is the Honda.

Again, thanks for this, I can see this being my fix for a while :sd:

Ah, ok. I’ll go back and check again to see which ones are working.

For the benefit of tintop racers like myself having a play in these cars, what wing settings ballpark should we be looking at for :-
    Tracks like Monza
    Tracks like Silverstone and Suzuka
    Tracks like Spa
    Tracks like Monaco?

Besides adjusting the gears and wings, do I (we) need to drastically change the default setup on a track by track basis, so that we are not dangerously off the pace of the open wheel specialists i.e. get within 2 seconds of the top times?

  • mike

anyone have good real feel settings for G25

    thanks

  • Mitos

2 GGSF1. Maybe I`m just perfectionist. By the way, chrome effect is good, but the others… I show U – http://radikal.ru/F/s56.radikal.ru/i151/0904/eb/2364439f8cf6.jpg.html

  • http://www.fsone.es GGSF1

You need to change the cubemap. The file is called FS08_Cube_DX9.DDS (except for Red Bull, it’s called RBR_Cube_DX9.dds and for Toro Rosso, it’s called STR_Cube_DX9.dds). Copy the cubemap from CTDP and place in every team folder with the right name. Then the effect should be almost the same.

  • Mitos

Not maps. I had in view quality of models.

  • http://www.fsone.es GGSF1

Then don’t complain about the reflection effect… I just showed you how to change it.

I’ve played around with the camber, toe-in, bars, and a few other things and I’ve picked up 1.5 secs at Sepang. I’d suggest changing the things you know about first and then start experimenting with some of the other open-wheel only settings. That’s what is working for me.

  • mike

don’t worry GGSF1 there is always someone that complaines about a free product. the ratings on rfc prove how good the mod is, but there is always that one person that will complain.

Just a bit less throttle modulation is needed in those situations compared to CTDP of MMG.

I guess it all depends on your driving style and your setup as you how you have the car behaving. I find myself having to be on my toes with the exit of every slow corner. Even if its a corner you might exit in 1st or 2nd normally, if I use 3rd gear I can still get that tail sliding unless I wait until Ive totally re-centred the steering.
Its definately more forgiving the CTDP06 1.1. Personally, I think they totally screwed up the physics with the 1.1 update and now its totally unrealistic in regards to TC and slip curves.
Both of those mods also have an annoying and inherent understeer issue in fast corners too, though FSOne not so much.
MMG I use with TC, because I choose to simulate how it was done in the real world. FSOne08 I prefer to drive with TC off for the same reasons.
MMG07 for me, is still my No.1 choice when it comes to physics. I like that I can push hard, have confidence with the car, but not be too complacent with it either.
FSOne08 runs in 2nd for me and CTDP V1.0 is right up there with both of them. However, as I said, since their 1.1 patch, it all went down the toilet. Heaven knows what they did but it ain’t real anymore regardless of how much people like a challenge. Its not about difficulty being the best choice, its about simulating reality and CTDP06 no longer does that unfortunately.
Well I drifted there but had to get that off my chest.
At least I still have 2 F1 mods I can regularly return to. FSOne08 came just at the right time to replace CTDP06 1.1 for me. I guess I could go back to 1.0 on that one eh ?

  • Siggs

Hmmm…I d/led v1.1, but I’ve not installed it. In that case, I’ll back up first, see what I think. :ooo: I know what you mean about the understeer, I think it affects the MMG cars more than the CTDP. And I’ve really found in FSone, the tail breaks under braking alot.

Of course, your right, it’s all down to driving style, setup changing can solve all of this.
    .

  • Joni

First positive things, cars does looks really good in overall, only mclaren and ferrari looks bit odd but still good enough.

Im sorry to say that there the good things stops. Physicks are worst part, when you made changes to setup example ride height, springs, dampers etc it hardly makes any difference to car handling. Also there is no way to get rid of high speed understeer, doesnt matter wich changes you made to setup it is still always there. Then about aero, you must use ridicilously low wings to get realistic topspeeds. Just for example melbourne real F1 topspeeds last year were about 308km/h,and now with this mod you have to use wings like 15/15 to get that topspeed.

Engine sounds are not that good either, for some cars sounds are reasonably good but in some cars it sounds like there is multiple engines running at same time.

Just for notice i dont want to disrespect anyone who have worked with this mod. I just give my honest opinion and hope they will change things in future with some kind of patch.
