FSONE 2007 – Release on Saturday?

Posted on July 17th, 2008 in

It looks like the FSONE 2007 Formula One mod for rFactor is very near as the official FSONE website sports this button on the frontpage now.

I don’t really speak Spanish but to me, this looks like the mod will arrive on Saturday at eleven, giving rFactor racers a second Formula One mod to choose from.

FSONE 2007 will include all cars of the 2007 Formula One season including a Mercedes Benz safety car.

    cause modders are stupid

  3. Montoya

..or because we have the freedom to choose

I am drunk when they release it, but sunday should be fun.

FSOne have obviously put a lot more effort into their physics, but MMG models are better. So MMG Models + FSOne Physics = proper F1 2007 Mod Finally

  6. F1Racer

    Dude101 there`ll be a 2nd ‘proper’ F1 2007 mod soon too when MMG re-release theirs ;)

I think the choice of more than one mod is a good thing. Although I only count 2. If the third one is CTDP06 then that wouldnt count as its a different season.
As an F1 nut I can’t wait for all 3 !! well..2 for me as I betatest one of them.

I am excited for this mod because: They announced that a 2007 Track Pack realease before the mod. I quote it from rfcentral:

“Second Season to Formula Series One

    - 2007 Cars .

    - 2007 Physics & 2008 Physics .

    - 2007 Drivers .

    - 2007 Test drivers .

    - 2007 Track Pack befor mod release ( with valencia G.P ) .

    - Some Track in Rain .

    - Back RedLight in Rain Track .

    and much more.”

In my opinion it’s just good to have several mods. Let’s see if it will be released at Saturday, hope so

Actually, there is a proper F1 mod for rFactor. It’s called 2007 BMW Sauber F1 by ISI. It’s better than CTDP and much better than MMG.

MMG did work on the 2008 BMW Sauber F1 car just released, and it’s pedestrian compared to the 2007 car by ISI. Much easier to drive, much easier to find the limit. Not nearly as much fun.

  10. Montoya

Paul, the 2007 Sauber has been made by CTDP ;)

  11. Pepper

    Erm… ISI/MMGs BMW 2008 uses the same physics as ISI/CTDP BMW 2007….

    Looking forward to this & CTDP 06 & MMG07 v2!!!
    Choice is wonderful thing

I will like 2 see all f1 modders come together from across the globe to make the best sim racing experience. It a though task but if the do that we all benefit…….peace aldo

from the Honda preview shots we’ve seen of FSOne 2007, the wheels still look way too big for an F1 car.

  14. F1Racer

too true Pepper. And yes the physics from 07 BMW and 08 car are the same with 1 exception. The car size, its wheelbase and wheeltrack on the 08 car is accurate from real data and not faked like 07 car.

  15. Dude101

I will believe a MMGv2 when i see it. Their not exactly the most believeable mod team. Plus their releasing of stolen tracks doesn’t help either.
I’ll wait and see i guess.

  16. Aldo Villamil

i kind have the same feeling about mmg i thank all modders because i use their mods lol, but they make it seems like they are the shit or something we have 2 come together as a community and share logistics. we should also have apublic forum no ceo no lead adm… just a place 2 come share ideas and work together and have one goal improvement of sim racing in general pho software and a unified language …..

  17. F1Racer

@Dude101: Enough with the old tired repetitive nonsense please. MMG F1-2007 WILL be re-released. I am not given to lies or gossip and rumour. So take it from me, its a reality. It exists because have it on my hard disk. But with your attitude it doesn’t seem like its going to matter to you anyway.

@Aldo: what do you mean by ‘the shit’ ? Is this the best phrase you can manage with your intellect ?
Your idea of everyone lovingly coming together to share info and all working together as 1 big community etc is pure fantasy. It will never happen. There are too many independant minds and everyone has their own paths to follow.
No idea what you mean by ‘pho software’ and ‘unified language’

  18. Aldo Villamil

sorry english is my second language, and the attitude you are displaying is just what im talking about, and i disagree “unified language” is sacred geometry so you have no idea wt you are talking about. It will increase ai and a create new form of computing language…..fantasy in your world, but in mine its happening 2 coming together…. i think your main goal is not to help the community, but is an ego driven one that prevents certain individuals to collaborate with on others…’The shit”its slank look it up ……..

  19. Dude101

But the comments are true. MMG promised a lot but haven’t IMO delivered. So i will wait and hopefully i will be pleasantly suprised. FSOne hasn’t made a meal of things and while graphically its no where near MMG’s work physically hopefully he has produced something good that i can play with.

It’s your arrogant stance that doesn’t help. I am stating fact and making a mere judgement. I have stated i will wait and see and hopefully be suprised but what can we do but judge on a previous track record? Its how the world works.
I look forward to what MMG produces. Hopefully the days of an STR sticking it on pole with Mclaren’s on the back row are coming to an end

    @F1 RACER

LMFAO!! What makes you think the 07 car made by CTDP has “fake” Data?

Do you have evidence to prove that? or are you just hyping up MMG like you usually do?

As for FSOne, it will be very interesting to see how this fares up against MMG’s 07 mod at the moment.

  21. Aldo Villamil

Im with dude and mark, @f1racer i never launch a personal attack at anyone so why are you grading my intellect it make’s no sense. You prove my point being…. and our attitude has nothing to do your performance it all in your head we all cant wait for mmg mods ctdp or fsone its always a pleasure to see what innovations they have come up with……I rather you take up 2 a year as long as the final result is great IMO… so f1racer all i can say its thank you to all modders =)

  22. F1Racer

Cool, lets take this a bit at a time……

@Aldo: First lets agree there is a language barrier here. I think you are not quite understanding some of the things Im getting at and at the same time I am not understanding yours.
So, lets progress with that in mind….

“and i disagree “unified language” is sacred geometry so you have no idea wt you are talking about”

Actually I have no idea what YOU are talking about. I’m being genuine about that. I don’t know what you mean when you are talking about a unified language. Now Im even more baffed when you say its sacred geometry.
I respect that English isnt your primary language so I only ask if you can explain this better.

“i think your main goal is not to help the community, but is an ego driven one that prevents certain individuals to collaborate with on others”

OK wtf in hell are you talking about ? Don’t you judge me mate because you don’t even know me. Ive been part of this community probably before you could even walk. I have no ego to speak of, I am my own worst critic when it comes to my work – anyone who knows me well enough will tell you that.
And since when have I ever prevented anyone from doing anything with anybody ? I dont get involved with other peoples business in such ways. I don’t know where you are getting these words from but either you are mixing me up with someone else or you’re quite delusional.

“’The shit”its slank look it up ”
I dont need to look it up since English is my FIRST language.
My point was why you had to use such a phrase in the first place. Can’t you find the proper words to use instead of street slang ? Just the fact that ‘the shit’ is accepted as a positive comment is enough to make anyone wonder about intellect.

@Dude01: Come on, you say Im taking an arrogant stance but how do you expect me to react when you come out with “I will believe a MMGv2 when i see it. Their not exactly the most believeable mod team. Plus their releasing of stolen tracks doesn’t help either.”

Althought Im certainly not going to get into it here, there were explanations for the tracks fiasco but I feel I would be simply wasting my time explaining it because it would be just laughed off not matter how genuine it was.
As for ‘believable mod team’, well Im not sure what you mean there. If youre referring to the personal lives of the members then that has nothing to do with the development and progress of the mod which people are still, despite all the negativity directed at them, hard at work producing 2007 and 2008 mods.
So putting that bit in wasn’t very fair. You can’t not believe that the MMG 2007 got released. Thats real enough.
MMG know it wasn’t good enough but instead of leaving it like that, they decided to rework it all through again to make it better. I think that deserves even a little bit of respect.
Oh and you dont have to stick to the way the world works.
And I`ll even address your STR on pole comment.
rFactors talent files are hardly brilliant. This isnt GP4 when you can program performances with pretty good accuracy.
Im sure it will be better in the next incarnation but dont blame MMG for an rFactor issue. Many other mods suffer from this too and yes its annoying.

Lastly, I think if you read my first post here too you`ll see that I said I was also looking fwd to FSOne and CTDP. Ive already wished Codex good luck for Saturdays release. Theres no ego here mate and if I come across as arrogant its probably because I have to, but its not intentional.
Codex of FSOne and Andy of CTDP are both on my MSN and I consider both of them friends.

@Mark Leung: “What makes you think the 07 car made by CTDP has “fake” Data?
Do you have evidence to prove that? ”

Can you prove it doesn’t ?
I personally don’t have evidence but I believe my source. If its proved otherwise then Im fine with that and I`ll take it back.
My point was that the 08 car has (as with all cars from MMG 2008 mod will have) its car size, wheelbase and wheeltrack accurate down to the millimetre. That could be the reason for the changed physics.
Unlike Paul Kelly, Im not in the ‘Its easier to drive so it cant be realistic’ society. Wanting a challenge to drive and having realism can be two different things.
If MMG use accurate data and rF handles that properly we should be good to go.

“or are you just hyping up MMG like you usually do? ”
This is the bit Ive been looking forward to… :)
Read this slowly… I AM IN MMG… WHAT DO YOU EXPECT ME TO DO ?!
You call it hype but its not. Im only stating facts. And whats with this ‘usually do’ ?
What I usually do with regards to discussing MMG is defending it from hyper-critical over-sensitive spoiled brats who have had anyone say ‘no’ to them since they were in nursery school.
Sometimes people write some real rubbish about MMG and Im not one to keep quiet and just let it roll if its just a bunch of BS.

  23. F1Racer

bah, I wish we could edit posts. I didnt check it for typo’s :)
Anyway one correction I wanted to make from the bottom there, should read “hyper-critical over-sensitive spoiled brats who haven’t had anyone say ‘no’”

F1racer Racer i apologize i hope this helps Sacred geometry is used in the design of sacred architecture and sacred art. The basic belief is that geometry and mathematical ratios, harmonics and proportion are also found in music, light, cosmology. This value system is seen as widespread even in prehistory, a cultural universal of the human condition. It is considered foundational to building sacred structures such as temples, mosques, megaliths, monuments and churches; sacred spaces such as altars, temenoi and tabernacles; meeting places such as sacred groves, village greens and holy wells and the creation of religious art, iconography and using “divine” proportions. Alternatively, sacred geometry based arts may be ephemeral, such as visualization, sandpainting and medicine wheels. Unified language

  25. F1Racer

    @Aldo: Now I wish I didnt ask :D hehe.
It all sounds very spiritual. I’m afraid I’m not religious at all. Interesting though. I wish I had sacred geometry in my not so sacred renders :)
One thing I have to mention is the word you used…’prehistory’. If I was George Carlin (famous US comedian) I would say how can you have pre-history ? Is that something that happened before history ? History before history ?
Anyone who has listened to Carlin will know what I’m on about hehe. (Just a comedy bit, not a criticism).
Anyway thanks for the explanation. I have a friend at work who is into all spiritual stuff and such like, I will see if she has heard of this before.
