What would realy rock would be a brake pedal with an electrohydraulic acutator: it could simulate brake fade, pedal going spongy, ABS, different master cylinders, etc.
Now, imagine the cost

This could easily be built using a $9 USB FFB gamepad and a simple rFactor plugin. It wouldn't vibrate as much but it would only cost $9 compared to the bazillions that Frex will probably charge.

I agree with others. I don't get vibration in real life when locking up unless ABS is enabled. Realistic or not I see how this could be helpful.

That's also what I was wondering when I saw this couple of days a go. I've also heard race drivers say the exact same thing, that only ABS and warped disc(s) vibrate the brake pedal.

On RSC it was said that it helps you feel when the tires lock and slip. Quote from Shige:
Brake vibration device works with lock up tires in a game.

New SimCon device named SimConVBRAKE is a device connected to SimConBASE by link cable.

The development is almost done and now we are testing with GTR2.

4 values can be adjustable in the control panel.
Rotor Touch:
Max value of vibrations when touch the brake pads to brake rotor.

Front Lock:
Max value of vibrations when lock front tire.

Rear Lock:
Max value of vibrations when lock rear tire.

Slip:
Max value of vibrations when slip any tire.

The vibration frequency are synchronized with the car speed!!

It is very realistic feeling and finally this device makes a brake for game
proudly call as a racing simulator's brake system.
How to drive fast without such information that you might think after use
it once.

SimConVBRAKE
Vibration motor, wires, SimCon link cable
Price: To be announced later.
Date of release: TBA

SimConBASE and AC/DC12V adapter will be required.

So... what does it simulate? ABS or warped discs?
Don't get me wrong, I'm not bashing this, only I didn't notice my real brake pedal vibrating in normal conditions (and while racing too).
