i wonder, what was this made for?
    personal? corporate?
it looks like too expensive to buy it as personal

i think the steering wheel/pedals should move with the mechanics , not just the seat.

hypertek: i think the steering wheel/pedals should move with the mechanics , not just the seat.

    That’s pretty friggin stupid.

    Agreed, that’s pretty friggin stupid.

Having it all move together creates a lot of mass to shift around very quickly. Which then really does make it a “not-for-home” product. Personally, I’d love to have a full frex setup like this.

you can always mod it so that everything moves together. I saw one video.. this guy has got wheel and pedals together with seat. I THINK it was frex all the way. :)

Pretty cool setup  Drivig was cool too, but he payed for going on the edge too mutch

  • hypertek

well I meant might as well go all the way, instead of just your seat moving and you having to adjust the difference with your legs/hands on stationary objects, Last time I drove a car, the steering wheel and pedals moved with it lol. but i suppose it would be more work to build.

sorry that was no way a complaint, this is still freaking cool

Well actually this seat setup is supposed to simulate G-forces to the drivers body while driving and it does add alot to racing sims. When you accelerate the seat goes backward… brake and it goes forward… turn to the left and the seat move to the right and ……. You get to feel the bumps in the road or when you hit something. It allows you to feel what’s going on, like when you brake, you get instant feedback to what the cars doing so you can drive more instinctively. I smile every time I drive with this rig, especially with off road games like Dirt 2.
As far as price goes you can build just the seat setup yourself for about $1400.00 USD using SCN5 100mm actuators which cost $400.00 ea. USD. All the info. you need is found at the “X-Sim” web site. If you want a rig that the whole thing moves than I suggest you visit the D-Box site and get ready to shell out up to $4000.00 USD or you could build you own. Have fun, you know I am!
