TaxiGamer has released two new gameplay videos of Turn 10’s Forza Motorsport 3 for Xbox 360, showing the Ferrari California convertible and the Mercedes C-Class DTM car.
The Mercedes joins the Audi A4 DTM car as both current DTM cars will be present in the newest Forza title. Even though the cars come unpainted, the community will most likely add the missing liveries from Germany’s most popular touring car series soon after the game is out.
Forza Motorsport 3 will bring over 400 cars and 100 tracks to the Xbox 360, the third installment of the Forza series will be released on October 22nd, a demo will be available later today.

that REWIND feature seems like a cheat, but i suppose they put it so people dont get frustrated lol. Forza sure does have alot of fantasy race tracks.

After playing lots of SHIFT and watching the latest GT5 Trailer I don’t get too excited watching these Forza3 vids.
Btw – when I saw the trailers/gameplay of Forza2 I bought immediately a Xbox360…

The Tracks are beautiful. To me Track Detail is more Important than Car Detail because I am inside the car 95 percent of the time and am looking outside into the beautiful track. That is why Forza 3 appeals to me much more than GT5 where the Tracks are just slightly better than our PC Sims 3 years ago. To much time was spent on making High poly cars that most other things in GT5 feel neglected. Whereas the Developer’s of Forza 3, Turn 10 outsourced the car models and tracks and concentrated all there efforts in making the game as accessible to a much wider audience as possible, hence the rewind feature.

So finally gameplay graphics and not photomode renders! And I have to say it’s a bit ridiculous…
and the gameplay looks so slow and boring!

NFS is trying to be like Froza, but Forza is trying to be like NFS
These vids remind me of Hot Pursuit 1&2

Looks awful. So contrast that it’s almost like being painted with a black ink only. Can’t believe the game may looks that bad after so many great screen-shots. It should be either an insane HDR or probably an extremely wrong calibrated monitor. Think the second is more likely. It’s so hard nowadays to find a TV that would show anything natural and not being over-saturated.

I’ve been playing the demo all morning. The graphics are not as good as GT:prologue but there’s no comparison when it comes to car physics. GT series, including prologue, doesn’t even come close.
The AI is also fairly aggressive once you bump them. You can tell they also like to compete with each other and you never get the impression it’s you against 7 other cars that unfailing follow a line. Crash physics are also modeled. There’s no bumper cars here, cars react to you and you react to them in a realistic fashion.
I can’t believe this needs to be said but every car in the demo is a “premium” car: as in they all take damage.

Played the demo for 30mins, seems really good. Vey hard to control 911 with gamepad and no tc. Just wish the XBOX would support logitech wheels as the xbox wheel is garbage and i cant justify nearly 500 pounds on the fanatec set up.
I live in hope that one day there will be a sim/semi sim that ticks all the boxes!!

It says release on October 22. Was this changed from the previous release date we were giving on October 27?

Loving the demo. Have antilock brakes on, all other aids off. Tried with antilock off but it’s too hard to gauge on the gamepad. With it on though I have to say the game is lovely. Wasn’t sure what to expect but the Mini and Lancer I tried didn’t suffer from the chronic understeer all GT cars seem too. It just felt right. Like the car was doing what I wanted rather being engaged in a fight with it.
First race I had a good battle. Second race I set out to cause carnage. Damage modeling is rather nice. Not sure how it effects handling. Need to play more. Did see the AI make a mistake, completely without interference from me, so the AI has been made fallible which is nice.
So far I’m loving it. Will try some more later and try the faster cars but definite purchase so far I’d say.
Oh yes, and the rewind feature so many people have bitched about, it seems to ONLY activate when you hit something. It’s not there all the time. I tested it and I quite like the idea. As I’ve said to the whiners about it, if you want to practice Karussell for example, instead of getting one shot every eight minutes you can try over and over again. Plus I remember times in GT4 with the rolling start races which put you at a huge disadvantage, you’d fight all the way up, only to make one small mistake, and due to the races being so short you’d be screwed. This rewind feature removes that frustration.
And the replays are great too. Only complaint is the camera selection could use work. The telemetry feature in the replays is awesome too.

I must be one of the few people that actually does not like this game. Well at least the physics… even the RWD California has to be forced to oversteer. I like the weighty/planted feeling of each car but otherwise I find the game too easy. I guess NFS Shift is too oversteer and FM3 is too “meh”-steer(I just invented that word). The 911 GT3RSR handles well though (ie its a challenge and acts like a high horse power race car). The R8 V10 seems like it is on rails. What I could just be crazy.

Still liking it. Also turned on all the aids and set my kids lose on it and they enjoyed it. Now my kids generally have NO interest in driving games outside of Burnout so this is quite the achievement.
Definitely looking good. Works nice with the gamepad and I feel in control, and the AI seems pretty good.
And for the record the Brutal Legend demo that came out the same day is pretty fun too.
Oh wait, that’s right, most of you turn your nose up at games that don’t involve racing and think people with outside interests are “mad”. Well I had more fun playing Firefight with my eldest tonight in Halo ODST than I have had sim racing at all in the last few months. ODST was the main course, with Forza as the dessert, and a wonderful gaming banquet was had by all.

I watched a 2-lap video of the Flying Lizard RSR (man I love that Le Mans livery) on a mountain course, and all cars seemed pretty much glued to the track.
How’s the body movement/ffb of the cars in Forza 3?

The physics are just great. Tested the demo first with the gamepad to compare it with Shift. All driving aids off. And it feels great. Some cars like the R8 and the 997 RSR seemed a bit easy to handle but the overall feeling with the gamepad was really good.
Then I switched to the MS wireless wheel which is clearly not the best wheel out there. I didn’t like the pedals as it was a bit unnatural to drive with them in Forza 2. But now the feeling is just great. Tested the 997 again and the car was really harder to drive compared to the gamepad. As long as the tires are cold you can’t slam the pedal to the metal. Tested the other cars too and the R8 also felt different. More like a beast than before. If you compare the driving with gamepad and wheel you notice that the gamepad seems to have some extra driving aids on even if you switch all aids to off. But I think thats ok. If you want to enjoy the full experience you’ll have to buy a wheel.
The cars felt really good a gave me a lot of feedback which I haven’t got in Forza 2 with the wheel.
Looking forward to play Forza 3 with the Fanatec Turbo S.
Graphics are really nice. GT5(P) hasn’t better graphics in the actual gameplay. I would say both games are on par. Maybe Forza 3 looks a bit better because the environments look really stunning.
Sound is also great. Love the sound of the California :)

o yeah compare this with shift graphics, leaving Forza 3 in a dust. or maybe you were using smalller tv so you won’t notice the jaggedness. the environtment does indeed look beautiful but without good visual like shift and that wasn’t not correct forza 3 has better graphics over GT5P. not to mention the steering assist kinda lame and there is no way to turn it off. im a better going back to shift anyway
sorry for double post, can’t even see the edit button
