Come on… can Forza 3 REALLY be that good? That would be the day when a MAINSTREAM racing game, for an Xbox (ugh!) could ever step up to the simulation plate and knock one out of the park. I just don’t see how a real simulation could satisfy Joe Sixpack and his band of beer drinking college frat boys. Everyone knows that these console games are designed to SELL, and in order to sell it has to be extremely accessible. A sim that’s so good, a professional driver get’s within .2 of his real time… sounds like a possible marketing ploy to me. Of course there is no way to prove it.

Meh, GRID had the same hype segment. From Le Mans. I am not saying Forza will be as bad as GRID, just that these approved-by-*insert star driver* bits are worthless, as they clearly dont care at all what they endorse as simulations.

Forza 3 may not as “perfect” as iRacing but it’s in terms of physics more realistic than 99% of the rF mods or every SimBin game.

You make it accessible by providing different driving “levels” with for example driving aids and increased grip. You also make it accessible by putting in a lot of production cars which by definition should be accessible compared to say an F1 car. You also put in a “rewind” feature so if you do crash its not game over.

And finally you also sell Project Gotham Racing for those really looking for the arcade experience.

Even the guys behind iRacing said that when they were Papyrus they worked on an “arcade” title (not released) but used their full blown physics engine with aids because it gave the best results.

I’m sorry guys.. but this video made me laugh a lot..

And I’m 100% sure all you guys who are over 20 years and live in Europe and all other places over the globe except USA know how USA marketing works.. about 99% of the information they give you are fake and the guy who talks all about the best game in the world and the real physics.. this guy is just get paid from Microsoft or Turn10.. and he says everything that he have to say.. this is so true…

Whether or not Stephane was paid for this, it is safe to say that Forza 3 is actually a very good game and nothing like Grid.

Simbin titles and similar standard RF mods are what the vast majority of PC sim players use, Forza 3 is on a level playing field with these.

You can point to iRacing, but that’s a niche title even within the sim niche.
