Forza Motorsport 3 – SRT Review & New Videos

The release of Turn 10′s Forza Motorsport 3 for Xbox 360 is just around the corner and more and more review material is coming in.

Jessica, Darin & Shaun of Insidesimracing.tv have released their video review of the title, using the Fanatec Porsche 911 Turbo S wheel.

Meanwhile, VVVGamer has been adding loads of Forza videos, one of the most interesting ones shows the Toyota GT1 on the Nürburgring Nordschleife below. All of their stuff can be found here.

Is it just me or we’ve seen an notable increase of cuteness from Jessica this particular time? Don’t know what’s different though.

And to be on topic, yeah, Forza3 looks almost as good and I’d live to try it. It’s a shame that I’m not likely to buy an xBox just for this game. And if it’s as sim-like as ISR say, I can’t see SimBin’s future in consoles.

Remeber Microsoft spent millions and years on this game. To help sell Xbox. As good as it is. It has it’s short comings. Only eight competitors isn’t much of a race. Does it have pit stops, and fuel use? There is definitely room for more race games. Expecially if people buy that wheel for Xbox.

Wow these guys really like FM3. Maybe a little too much. I played the demo and well did not think the physics or the damage were impressive at all. The cars felt weighty and crashes are dramatic… but honestly I find the cars way too glued to the road. I drove the California around that Spanish track and it took a full flick, ebrake tug and stomp on the gas to get it to slide.

Impressive score so I wonder where they’ll go with GT5′s 1000 cars, real time crash deformation and head tracking.

Looks like SRT sold out to get the early review. The demo was no fun with bland races. Looks like this will score higher than iRacing because of the cost, sounds and content? We will have to wait and see.

What do you mean by sold out ?

Oh and your 3rd sentence wasn’t a question.

They had to give a high review score to get the game early. They said that this review is their first impression and may change after more time.

Darin already said he had to change his score a bit after more play time.

Yes sorry the question was “Will this score higher than iRacing because of the cost, sounds and content?”

I must re-read next time.

why does it look like your driving a magic carpet in forza, no headshake whatsoever.

Forza will rock. End of story.

Since it is much cheaper, apparently has better sound and massively more content then maybe it will score higher than iRacing? Does it matter?

The problem with Forza is you can only fully appreciate its physics if you own a Fanatec wheel, which I would guess most of us don’t. It might be good enough to justify buying an XB360 just to play it but if you add the cost of a Fanatec wheel it does start to rival iRacing in terms of cost.

But Forza 3 can only be good news for simracing. Hopefully it will encourage EA and indeed other publishers/developers still further towards a conventional sim.
