Forza Motorsport 3 – Online Mode & New Previews

Following yesterday’s disappointing announcement about weather & night racing, Turn 10 is trying to please their fans again by announcing some more pleasant facts about the title’s online mode.

Forza Motorsport 3 will give players the ability to edit the rules of online-racing events, allowing over 100 settings to be tweaked. That allows some creative competitions, pairing drivers up in teams, limit others to certain vehicles and other possibilities. This article includes some examples of what will be possible.

Furthermore, a bunch of new preview shots have been released, showing several supercars including the Ferrari F430, the Ford GT and the Audi R8 in action. Since there’s no Forza article without comments on Gran Turismo and vice versa, here’s a rather interesting article for those who still question wheter or not the Gran Turismo 5 trailer was pre-rendered or not.

Forza Motorsport 3 will bring over 400 cars and 100 tracks to the Xbox 360, the third installment of the Forza series will be released in October.

This is one of the reason I got a 360. Not to play the best most realistic games ever but just to have fun. Some people forget that a semi-realistic game does not just have to be just that. I am glad I got my friends 360 (+10 games, 2 controllers, a 360 guitar and the 360 wheel) for $200.

As a side note those screen look… ok. I mean the game looks good but I have actually seen GTR2 models that look better let alone the WSGT2 cars. I think the main problem are the lights (front and rear). They just look fake. The interiors are nice and in general so are the models but overall the game looks like it has this film of haze around it. Everything is soft.

GT5p/GT5 on the other hand looks crisp and clear. In other words it looks less like a game. Sure it has some graphical flaws but it also has some amazing graphical details. FM3 kinda goes for the middle, less flaws but less detail.

I agree some of the car models in the power and glory mod for GTR 2 have yet to be equaled by anything in the console sims.

Because Power and Glory only has a handful of models and Forza/GT have 100s?

high poly cars but they look a bit plastic, ferrari especially.

I noticed that too actually, some of the cars don’t just look clean, but sterilized clean, not a speck of dirt on them.

The models themselves are very slick too, missing some of the small details that represent true 1:1 scale I think, almost toy like.

I want to know where are the race cars other than what were formerly known as R1′s. Let’s see some screenshots or video of some R2′s and R3′s.
