Forza Motorsport 3 – Nürburgring Pack Announced

After announcing several car download packs for Forza Motorsport 3, Turn 10 has now revealed the first additional track for their Xbox 360 racer as the Nürburgring Grand Prix track will be available starting February 9th.

The pack will include the Nürburgring Grand Prix track both as full layout and in the shorter sprint version. With the Nordschleife already available in Forza 3 since the initial release, players can now get their full Nürburgring fix. The pack will be available on Xbox LIVE, selling for 400 Microsoft Points.

The Grand Prix track is 5.1 kilometers in length and was opened in 1984 when the legendary Nordschleife became too dangerous to race on for several series. Today, the track hosts Germany’s Formula One Grand Prix, the Nürburgring 1000km race, an annual DTM round and other high-profile events. Below are four preview shots and a short video for you to enjoy.

Except we DON’T get the full Nurburgring fix as from everything I’ve seen from Turn 10, it does NOT give you a version to race the FULL 24 hour circuit.

And the Nurburgring on it’s own is a mediocre track.

Plus it seems like a bit of a con. The same price for one mediocre race track with two configurations as we’ve paid for 10 car packs.

And of course the thing is now the trouble begins with multiplayer, people who have the track vs those who don’t.

As a big Forza fan, this DLC is hugely disappointing. Overpriced, and lacking the one thing that would (for me anyway) make it a must buy.

Will probably still get it though, simply because I decided when I bought it that I’d buy all the DLC. Wasn’t expecting quite such expensive lameness though. (And all my complaints on the track being mediocre are about the actual circuit. Not Turn 10′s brilliant work.)

Finally track pack … not the best one but track pack …
    SPA PLEASE !!!!!!!

  • UncleChuckle

I don’t think we can call one track a track pack.

And supposedly back on Forza 2 tracks went for 100 points, not 400.

And yes, SPA! If we’re only going to get one track, make it a bloody good one and not that German dump. (I mean really, could we have not had the original Hockenheim! That would have been awesome.)

I was about to get an Xbox and forza 3. How much is 400 xbox points? Are these car packs and track packs expensive?

  • http://www.virtualr.net Montoya

There’s no fix price as it depends on where you buy the points. Buying them directly from Microsoft is more expensive than buying them for cheap on Ebay.

    400 Points equal around 4,50€.

    ok thankss

I would have liked to see the Nordschleife completely redone by Turn10. I mean, it basically is a pretty good adaption but there are some major faults in the layout that simply spoil the fun for me, the most significant being both Karussells and Flugplatz. This, plus the GP-Track and the possibility of driving the 24h and VLN-Layout would be worth the 400 Points

Brilliant! this was top of my list, it’s my favourite track in the world and my enjoyment of the game will be much better with it.

  • Mitos

    Hahahaha… It`s FM3 developer`s fantasy – R8 fights with 908th.

  • Mitos

    sorry… R10 of coursehahahaha…

  • UncleChuckle

Okay, so lesson learned: Don’t point out to Turn 10 that the track is a poor choice, and it’s overpriced.

I got banned from their forum for a month for saying that.

Not really sure what your beef with this track is.

The Nürburgring GP track is one of the better modern circuits in Europe, quite technical with a bunch of quick corners and elevation changes.

    @Mitos

Whats funny about the 908 racing against the R10? Happened on this exact track during the 2008 LMS 1000k race.

  • Mitos

    @Montoya

I saw all LMS races in 2008. Do U want to say that R10 faster than 908th?
There is one “mitigating circumstance” in video, only… that there is R10 have internal trajectory in video…

  • UncleChuckle

Montoya: Not really sure what your beef with this track is.

Oh it’s better than modern Tilke atrocities, but come on, which would you rather have? Spa, Monza etc… Or the Nurburgring? (Though the new Mercedes Arena bit is terrible.)

My main beef is that Turn 10 didn’t bother to make the 24hr version. They’ve got all the components there but just didn’t do it, which given that circuit is raced in probably the third most famous 24 hour race in the world, it seems like a bizarre oversight to me, when the game has two different versions of Le Mans.

Funny how some people always HAVE to complain. Forza 3 is out for a little over three months and there are already two carpacks for a very decent price available and now there is the first DLC track coming. I think you can’t complain over 4 Euro for a 10 car pack or a new track.

UncleChuckle: And supposedly back on Forza 2 tracks went for 100 points, not 400.

That’s not correct. Only Road America went for 100 points. Twing Ring Motegi was sold for 400 points.

Also no one forces you to buy something you don’t like.
